Atlantic City Marathon Series Event App. The Atlantic City Marathon has been a mainstay of the town since 1958 when Edgar League founded the event. It was then known as the Boardwalk Mile.
Since then, the event has witnessed hundreds of races, from marathons to 5Ks. Atlantic City has kept its tradition going strong and is currently the third oldest continuously run marathon, behind Boston and Yonkers.
Organized for many years by Boardwalk Runners Club, the race is historically the third Sunday of October each year. In 2010, the Katz JCC stepped in to help with the organization of the event. Runners now visit Atlantic City to participate in the Ocean and Bay front, USATF Certified courses and Boston Qualifying marathon during the fall and spring races each year.
