About this app

Safe Place is an app for children and young people with a focus on strengthening mental health. Safe Place offers both concrete exercises that can help the body, emotions and thoughts to calm down in the moment and that can also be helpful in the longer run.

In Safe Place you will find knowledge and information about how you can feel and react when you are experiencing stressful situations or if you have had such experiences before. It is important to know that Safe Place is not a form of treatment and can not replace a psychological treatment.

Safe Place is a safe space for you who experience or have previously experienced frightening events or strong stress. It is common to feel bad when one is involved in such experiences, also much later. Here you will find exercises that can help you deal with emotions and thoughts in the moment. They can also help in the long run if used regularly. Sometimes more help and support is needed to be able to feel better again and then it is important that you talk to an adult.

In the app you will get:
• Exercises that can calm and help in the moment
• A personal feel good list that can support you in doing things you enjoy
• Feedback on how long you have been using the exercises
• Knowledge and information about how strong experiences and stress can affect the body and mind.
• Support and fellowship with others who use Safe Place

Thank you! What a great app to support mental health, self care and kindness in children (and adults). The exercises, the gamified approach and individualised response after the daily check in are commendable.

I really like this app. The interact games like the maze game and the colour sorting game really helped me divert my thoughts and focus on something other than the urge to hurt myself or cry. I would really like it if more games similar to these are added to the app because I think its a great way to help ground yourself without being forced to think or listen to something. Overall, a beautiful interface with colourful, feel-good colours. Thank you so much for this, it helps me so so much!!

I love this app! It's very soothing and surprisingly calming. It's free. You can edit your name and avatar, though the name you enter isn't exposed, just the first initial (ex: Olivia would be O). A way I think would be nice is to be able to send actual messages to people, instead of just sending emojis. Great app!
