It does what they say, however the ability to use an api or url isnlimiting for my home automation. All my home automation is voice controlled and i would love to say rain bird start watering or skip a day. Hopefully once they update I wont have to buy another module. Please add a url to open app from url then I can incorperate it in my actiontiles. Simple app update "add intents for url to open app atleast" Its been a while, has there been any strives on releasing an api, or intergration with smartthings for home automation? Since the lack of support or home automation efforts, I will have to ove to Rachio sprinkler controller. I really wanted to use the rainbird, but with no home automation support or updates pther than languages is telling me this is not on the road map. Great job adding to Alexa, I use google, but have found a way to use it with a groovy app i made for smartthings. Hopefully you will release for other smart home technologies. Great job listening and putting this out.
I like the app idea, but the functionality and support are lacking. For instance i entered my zip code and it says invalid zip code. I have tried every zip code for 25 miles and still get invalid zip code. When you go to their support site the faq says make sure you entered a valid zip code, which I did and then got the same message. They don't mention any where what they consider a valid zip code. They also say it is compatible with alex a but when you try to connect it says not available in your area which I am sure is related to the zip code. About the only thing you can do reliably is program the controller and pause it.
Like others have said on here, there needs to be the addition of rules around when an event should or shouldn't happen. For example, if there is a 50% chance of rain, the system should automatically know not to water the lawn that day. I also would like to see an integration with Google home. I don't understand how Rain Bird's technologies are lacking so far behind the competing solutions, especially with regards to home automation products (google home, alexa).
Very useful. When will there be a 5g WiFi update ?
I love it but one thing I'd like to see added is the ability to cancel out of commands, especially "getting schedule". My wifi for my controller is weak and my phone internet can be spotty so between the two I'm stuck on "getting schedule" a lot and my phone is basically frozen until it finally times out or gets schedule. I could be dying and need to call an ambulance and I'd be waiting for schedule to time out before I could call.
Just installed it and it works fine, loading schedule pop up window is annoying. It would be nice to have option to manually water more or all zones instead of one, also log of reports. Pictures are not edited so they look bad.
* Introducing Amazon Alexa enabled voice commands for Rain Bird WiFi controllers.
* "Ask Rain Bird" via the Alexa voice assistant to run a program or water a zone using your own custom names, initiate a watering delay, report on irrigation time remaining, identify if a rain sensor has tripped, and much more.
