I spent a lot of time and effort with the Rainbird support to make this app (v1.3.1) work. It may fail miserably to update the firmware of the LINK2 wifi module of the ESP-ME3 controller and, as a result, fail to connect the module to the local wifi network unless the cellular network is disabled. I have a lot of IoT devices and do not remember that I ever was required to disable cellular network to connect a device to my wifi network.

I have deleted and re-added the controller several times in an attempt to fix things with no improvement. It is installed 40ft from my router, so connection issues shouldn't be a problem. However, it only functions correctly maybe 10% of the time. Sometimes sprinklers will be running with nothing showing in the app and others it will show sprinklers running in the app with none actually on. Forget trying to set a schedule too, it will always just get reset for "tomorrow". 0 stars if I could.

Edit ad of July 2026: It says that a program is running when it's not and I can't stop it! It's stuck! Original Review: Average app experience. it's not super intuitive. there are also 0 notifications. I'd like to see a timer going on in the background or at least a notification telling me when a prescheduled watering has started and when it ended.
