Galaxy Note 3 user. As a fairly recent reader to the world of Ice & Fire, I needed an app to help me navigate the maps, keep track of that characters, have a reference for the religious beliefs, analyze the houses' allegiance, etc. The app is free to download. There is a nice bonus to purchasing the extra content - you can set the spoilers to match up with the books you have read. So, if you're on A Storm of Swords, then set it to A Clash of Kings and you have all of the information available up through that book only without accidentally reading something further unintentionally. Highly recommended for lovers of the books or those wanting to go deeper from the TV show.
I can't use all of the Journey map features for some reason even though I bought the 5 bloody InfoPacks! What the hell is this?! Am I supposed to give you the money and be left without the access to the travels of guys like Victarion?! Apart from that, good app. Like the details, art and well written pages. Very caring for detail. And if you are wondering if my spoiler bar is all the way to right, it is!!
Poorly made This app is really kind of a joke. It's forced into portrait mode, the interface is clunky and looks like pieces of it are being cropped out no matter which device I use it on (phone, tablet, or Chromebook), it pushes notifications to you but tapping them does nothing but open the app, it takes forever to load despite taking up several hundred megabytes (what's with the massive download if it takes longer to load than just looking up the wiki on the internet?), and it's super unstable and crashes all the time. I love the subject matter, but this whole app needs a complete overhaul. Unfortunately, as this app hasn't been updated in nearly a year, it appears to be abandonware. It's hard to recommend spending money on this.
Very informative that is (mostly) complete It's a very informative supplement to the World of Ice and Fire series (especially for those that have only seen the HBO series, such as myself). The one element that is missing, in my opinion, that would warrant a 5-star rating is the inclusion of the House words (or mottos, whatever the actual wording is). Other than that, though, it's a great app to have if you desire to catch detailed summaries of the characters, places, and events that shaped and continue to shape Westeros.
Must have for book fans!!! Very good app! Essential for people who want a well crafted appendix for all things in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series. Be careful not to over-spoil events and people if you have not read the books or seen the HBO show yet. I wish George R. R. Martin the best and please finish "The Winds of Winter" before the year is out!!
VERY good, could be even better. Rich in content. Spoilers setting is brilliant. The maps are fantastic! I'd like to see more of the character artwork & be able to enlarge those pics. I don't watch the series, but might enjoy a little visual content from it. The books are the main focus though, as they should be. Well executed.
This update includes a minor bug fix as well as over 150 FREE new profiles from the Song of Ice and Fire Prequel A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS! Also includes: Maps as downloadable resources, so you can save space on your phone for what you really need.
