By signing up, you can share lifesaving information about your household with supported 9-1-1 centers and receive targeted emergency alerts.

When you call 9-1-1, your Smart911 Safety Profile displays in supported 9-1-1 centers nationwide. The 9-1-1 call takers can view your addresses, medical information, home information, pets and vehicles, and emergency contacts. You can provide as much or as little information as you like. This additional information enables 9-1-1 and first responders to send help fast.

Smart911 can also keep you informed of weather, traffic, and other emergencies by sending emergency alerts from the National Weather Service and local public safety agencies. You can select the types of notifications you want and how you want to be notified.

I think this service is an excellent idea. They indicate that my County participates in the Smart911 program, but I have no way to verify that. I've called 911 before but I have no way of knowing if they received the information I entered. I would like some confirmation from my County that they are still participating and that the e911 service is receiving my personalized Smart911 data. I'd like someone to contact me about this. If it works the way they say it does, I highly recommend it.

Live in Southeast USA. Currently under winter storm warnings, road closures etc. I've just signed up on the website. Loaded your app but can't get past the notifications screen. I've marked for all, no permissions denied but the app keeps telling me to adjust the permissions. Go figure only 10K downloads. Uninstalled.

The GUI is not intuitive. Furthermore, I subscribed to notifications and realized they were too frequent. I then updated the app to limit them to only text. I continuously received notifications from both. I then tried even disabling all together. I'm still getting a notifications from both. For now, I'll at least uninstall the app. Also - this shares info with police. Fire maybe? I get the logic. Love the idea and reason why. But they need to share legal documentation esp. on data retention.
