Vortexica makes me nostalgic for when mobile games were actually games rather than time-wasters. It's simple, polished to a shine, and it's fun. There are so many little interactions you wouldnt expect, like when your shots ricochet off the blocks they can go on to hit enemies or other obstacles, or like how your shots knock enemies around, but if they get knocked into obstacles they take damage. Mobile games should strive to be as good as this more often.

This thing... it's a bit nuts. It starts off with a nice quick pace - and it just keeps getting faster from there. I like the pixellated/voxel-ated(?) graphics and the general art style. It reminds me of an old arcade game whose name I can't remember now, but has a similar premise (shooting enemies and avoiding obstacles in a tubular area), so it's got some nostalgia factor for me. My only two gripes is thag there's no dedicated pause button or a dedicated fire button.

A very challenging but addictive game. The controls take some getting used to, but after that it becomes extremely fun. Shooting enemies feels great. Speeding through those later levels without a scratch never stops being satisfying af. Restarting a stage is always tense as you hope you don't die too early and lose progress. It's a nice blend. I do wish there were boss fights of sorts as I'm sure they would be AWESOME in a game like this, but the game is great as is. Cannot wait for the updates!
