Somehow the best free ingredient converter Layout is a bit clunky, especially choosing unit to convert to includes quantity which really slows scanning the list. Lists 1 cup of flour as 100g which is way on the low end of most conversions (e.g. King Arthur Flour uses 120g and most American recipes assume unsifted flour which is ~140g). Unfortunately can't edit the conversions saved but thankfully are transparently noted so you can opt to use a better one when you know it's off, like the "Dead Smith flour" (what is that?) at 130g/cup instead.
If i could give this app less than 1 star i would. First problem is when trying to convert measurements, it wont let me use fractions. Therefore IT SERVES NO PURPOSE!!!!!!!!! I HATE THIS APP
I like the thought I like the thought, and it looks like it would work well. However, when I attempt to enter a value to convert, it only opens the numerical keyboard on my device. There is no option to add decimals or fractions. The buttons just simply aren't there.
Great for converting to grams for baking! Gives me all the conversions I need. Makes measuring out ingredients on my scales for recipes a lot easier.
Brilliant For some unknown reason Americans use stupid measurements. Finally good to get a translation.
Not Good enough This app just upgraded automatically, even though I never set my apps for automatic updates. Ever!! I'm now uninstalling.
2.5001 [Mar 15, 2013]: The last update for Recipe Convert free. Internet permissions and ad code have been removed. The paid version is much nicer and continues to be updated and improved. Please consider purchasing it. Think of it as a tip: Less than the cost of a single cup of coffee for my many hours of work on something you can use as much as you like. Compare this to conventional tipping for a meal which you use once and is both prepared and gone relatively quickly.
Tip me for my dance?
