About this app

Play your Dreamcast games on the go & in HD.

Reicast the only Dreamcast emulator for Android. It is not perfect yet, but can already run many games.

No games or bios are included with this download, as this would be illegal. You have to dump the bios and games from your own dreamcast.

**Permissions**
- "Photos/Media/Files" -> to read game images and bios
- "Camera/Microphone" -> for dreamcast microphone emulation
- "Device & app history" -> to read emulator crash logs. You can submit the logs via the included menu to help us solve issues.

**Setup**
- Create a folder named "reicast", and then a folder named "data" inside it. Put the bios (dc_boot.bin & dc_flash.bin) inside the data folder. Windows sometimes hides the file extention, so the filename might look like "dc_boot" on the windows explorer.

- Create a folder anywhere you want, and put the Dreamcast games in there. Reicast currently supports .gdi, .chd (v4), and .cdi disc formats, but .cdi is discouraged due to problematic compatibility.

- Open reicast and selet the "reicast" folder you created as system path.

- In order to save your game-play progress you will first need to format the memory cards. In order to do this you need to start the program, select the "boot bios" option, go to the "file" option, select the memory cards and then select the "delete all" option.

- Finally use the game navigator to locate your games. You can also setup a game path if you want to default to a specific folder.

- For further support & general questions, ask in http://forums.reicast.com/index.php?board=1.0

**Recommended specs**
- Cpu: Cortex-A9, Dualcore, 1.2ghz
- Gpu: Adreno, Tegra K1 or Mali400 gpus
- At least 512mb ram

several years ago i played Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2 on Reicast on my shield portable. they ran amazing. now I can barely get skies of Arcadia to run. its full of graphical issues and sound issues that weren't there before. neither game with boot with the dynamic recompiler. i have to run with interpreter and then switch to dynamic once I'm in game. that only works to get it running, but it crashes again with scene changes. How is it that games that used to work flawlessly on here atleast 2 years ago now barely function on my shield portable (same device) after updating the emulator. very disappointing. I really wish I had kept the old version of the emulator, this just sucks, really wanted to play through these games again.

Works great with the games that work with it. There are a few that don't seem to run, but being able to play most of the games from my favourite console on my phone is great. Not a huge fan of the new UI, nowhere near as intuitive as the previous one, but still plays brilliantly. Sadly the latest update has ruined everything. It's just crashes, won't let me chose any games, and just starts on a random game on launch. Hopefully this can be sorted soon.

It isn't a particularly easy emulator to get going, but once you do get it to go, it works like a charm. Games are emulated excellently. Tested SA2 and it was wonderful. Got all the way through the third level, Prison Lane with 0 issues. There is an issue with the emulator the instructions neglected to go over regarding the buttons. You have to find a button layout from the internet(super easy btw) and drop the image file into the reicast folder otherwise the buttons are invisible. Great overall
