Fantastic app. Well worth the money to have a completely customizable universal remote. The only thing it doesn't do is open my garage
Was Great Ok, your putting in great effort so here is some more stars. Still the whole feel isnt as good as the old app. Next update should stop removing current remote from the list as its now confusing. You can never work out which remote is next and you miss editing remotes as the order changes. * problem : automated tasks send the IR signal twice. I want to mute my AV receiver when i get or make a phone call. It mutes then unmutes straight away. Needs a fix.
Awesome support for no names I've got some pretty no name brand equipment that most of the stuff doesn't have, but I've yet to find hardware these guys don't have in their database...as close to Logitech as you'll get for the cost.
In terms of functionality, I haven't yet come across any IR Remote app for android that can match Smart IR Remote. There is a huge database for devices, Tasker integration, Google Now integration for voice commands, air gestures for those that have Samsung phones, macro commands, remote and button customizeability. All told, an impressive and reliable app. However, the UI is a bit frustrating to work with. Adding devices is pretty straightforward, but editing them, and customizing the remotes takes quite a bit of getting into. Once set up, though, it works as well as I think any android IR remote device can possibly do. I would however wish the developers made customization a bit more manageable, and perhaps freshen up the available color schemes a bit, make them more modern. It's an amazing app, and if everything looked a bit slickr and ran a bit smoother, it would be killer.
I really like what the app has become functionally. The editor is painful to use at best to get there. My suggestions: Color Customization: -DO NOT close the Color Selector dialog until I press OK. Too much work selecting text-color, close, reopen, to select button-color!?! A silly waste of time. The OK button is currently void of purpose. -Allow customized color palette, and a reset option, or both a User and System palette. Too much work to use the same colors if they are not one of the presets. -DUPLICATE BUTTON OPTION:. Would save LOTS of time when creating custom group of buttons. Duped buttons can just be reassigned, reshaped, re-texted ... and not painfully recreated from scratch. -PINCHING to re-size buttons is OK. Handles would be better in many cases like w tablets. Overall, the editor has improved some -- but very little by contrast to the rest of the app.
Yay for High Contrast !!!! I've been looking for a remote app that takes into account that needs differ from person to person. This is IT. Configurable for high contrast and colors for my nearsighted, half colorblind eyeballs. Plus I can enlarge the buttons to make it easier for my big fingers to hit the right one! Thanks so much for all the work that goes into the development.
