Renzell is a new restaurant rating company with a unique data-driven methodology, focussing on high-end restaurants in New York City. Renzell rates restaurants using a hand-selected panel, a custom survey, and a proprietary ranking algorithm. The first full Renzell rankings will be released in June of 2016.
We use an objective, data science methodology, both to select the restaurants we survey and to rank the restaurants. We believe in a fool-proof system that provides an accurate assessment of what a great dining experience is.
A hallmark of Renzell is a holistic view of what makes a restaurant great. Traditional measures of food, service and ambiance are important, but modern urban dining experiences have evolved beyond these simple categories. Renzell tracks seven categories: Vibe, Hospitality, Service, Food, Cocktails, Design and Wine/Sake. The weight Renzell applies to each category reflects our desire to take into account a curated experience.
The annual restaurant rankings, with special attention to the top twelve restaurants—The Renzell Twelve—will be published in a bespoke quarterly print and tablet magazine covering the luxury restaurant lifestyle. The magazine is a mix of sharp editorial content, examining design, architecture, service, art, food, and drink. It is mix of profiles and in-depth examinations of the people, the places, and the dedication that go into the production of a great restaurant. The first issue of Renzell Magazine debuts in September, 2016.
