Very useful for searching random vocabulary and conjugations, and I'm always surprised to find that there are many obscure words and phrases. However, it is lacking a handwriting feature for searching kanji and radicals. You need to search for the radical based on the stroke number and it can be rather inconvenient when you want to search for something in a hurry. Other than that I think it's a great app, especially considering it's free!
I used to to use the app on iOS and it worked flawlessly. But on android it's buggy. The most annoying bug is that when you type for example an katakana word you encountered but it's in fact a kanji word the app finds nothing. But on iOS it worked and it finds corresponded word. Also component search is less convenient than on ios. Can you please just clone the iOS version?
Decent, but needs work. Why is there no common word search filter? Why are common definitions such as 'windy' missing? I think it's about time all of these Japanese dictionary apps stopped relying so much on free public domain EDICT definition lists. We need custom and COMPLETE definitions.
Since I was young, I have been taught that Japanese people are a group of hardworking & careful people, but only after I use this app I realize that it is a legend. Compared with iOS version, the Android version is a buggy rubbish, which crashes too frequently, and the developer keeps turning deaf ear to bug report, double standards were applied to the software development. I like the Japanese language and Japanese people, but with all my respect, the android version is a humiliation of てんのうへいか😥😥😥
Used to have this app on iOS and it's still wonderful. Full of examples and learning told bit I miss the handwriting search the iOS version had as well as a few ease of life features like having the reading of kanji on flashcards. Still a good so but feels like it's missing features from it's years old iOS counterpart
This is in my top three Japanese apps for sure. Unfortunately it puts the data on the Data partition and doesn't give me an option to save it to the SD card instead, so I can't use it on anything but my high end devices.
