Simple as that!
Harmonicity is a measure of the sound energy in the harmonics relative to the rest of the spectrum.
Harmocity varies with age, gender & which vowel you pronounce. Higher harmonicity values indicate a purer sound. Whilst lower jitter and shimmer values indicate a purer sound.
This meter is supposed to be used with a continuous consistent sound, e.g. Pronoucing a vowel, or a tone from a speaker/instrument. Rapidly changing tone/sound will give nonsensical output.
FOR INDICATION ONLY. Harmonicity will vary depending on how close the source is to the microphone. Microphone sensitivity varies with frequency and from device to device. Even amoungst scientific literature, it is difficult to find consistency in absolute reported values.
Jitter is a measure of the frequency variation of the sound. The relative jitter is shown as a %.
Shimmer is a measure of the amplitude variation of the sound. The relative shimmer is shown as a %.
Autodetects sound – App will only start measuring when a sound is detected.
Averaging - After 0.7s, the app will start averaging the Harmonicity, Jitter, Shimmer and freqency values. This will continue until the sound is stopped at which point the last 0.7s of data is removed from the averaged values.
Musical Note – The current detected frequency is converted into a note based on western 12 tone equal temperament. Use to tune your guitar or other instrument if you wish.
Pause button – Useful if in a noisy environment and measurement doesn't auto stop.
FFT Spectrum – Autoscaling Sound Intensity between 0 and 2 kHz.
Range: 100 Hz to 2 kHz fundamental harmonic frequency detection.
Internet Permission is for link to website with more info/user guide for app.
The fast fourier transform (size 8192) is performed on the last 0.74s of data to produce a frequency spectrum (0 to 5.5 kHz with 1.35Hz resolution). This frequency spectrum is windowed between 100 and 4 kHz with linear fall offs to zero at 50 and 5 kHz. The fundamental frequency is determined from polynomial fitting to peaks. The harmonic energy is determined from the sum of the FFT signal at the harmonic freuquency plus 8 Hz either side. The noise is the sum of the rest of the FFT. The ratio of harmonic to noise energy is the Harmoicity and is displayed in decibels.

ChordGen is a simple, easy to use application to generate chord progressions.
Beginner musicians can use ChordGen to generate chord progressions with the root note of their choice.
You can find some of the popular chord progression sequences here in all the modern scales and modes.
Use ChordGen to get chord progressions for Piano, Acoustic guitar and Power Chords.
Chordgen also teaches you how to play each of the listed chords in the selected sequence for the particular musical instrument.
With ChordGen upgrade, You can Build your own Chord Progressions in an all easy step by step process. You can save your work and load it at a time later whenever needed. You can use Chordgen as a basic level Song writing application to get ideas for your next song!
ChordGen plays the progressions in a loop and hence, can be used as a Backing-Track tool as well. How cool is that !
All you need to do is to pick up a guitar or any other musical instrument, jam on the backing track of your choice!
Get creative with these chord progressions. Get ChordGen for FREE.
Just by touching your screen twice, you can play a variety of chords.
You can play music anywhere. For example, in your room, in your car, at a cafe, at your school and even at a toilet room in your office.
How to use
Select a key according to music that you want to play. Then, the layout of root note buttons is changed. If D is selected, the bottom-left is 'D (I)', and the top-right is 'C# (VII)'. If you are not specialist of music, you can start with the key C.
You can play a variety of chords by very very very easy way! For example, if you want to sound the 'Em7' in the key 'C', touch the root note button 'E' (third column of bottom), and touch the chord button 'm7'. Then, this app plays the chord of 'Em7' (p1, m3, p5, M7). Amazingly easy, isn't it?
Change the layout of chord buttons
If you want to play the chord '13' button, you may try to find it, but you can't find it. In this case, you can re-assign a chord to any chord button. By long-touching a chord button, a dialog interface with the list of chord pops up. You can select a chord that you want to assigned to the button.
After changing the layout, you will want to save the changes. You can save it from the "Save chord layout" button from the option menu. And you can also load it from the "Load chord layout" button anytime.
The default screen orientation setting is portrait mode. You can change the orientation to landscape mode from the option menu. It makes easier to use both left and right hands, and you can play more dramatic chord progression.
You will also discover chord progressions to many famous hit songs just by tapping about in Songo... who would have thought it could be this easy!

This isn't just an app, it turns your Android device into a musical instrument like the Thummer (Thumtronics) or AXiS-64 (C-Thru Music). It works best on recent mid- to high-end devices with large accurate multitouch screens. Old or low-end devices tend to only support 2 simultaneous touches, and are very inaccurate.
On slow devices, especially with a single-core CPU, it's not responsive while it's loading and can take over 20 seconds to load all of the sound samples. Unfortunately, the Android sound system likes to hog the single processor core while it's doing this. I'm looking into what can best be done about this issue.
* Better preferences.
* Changes to key/note code.
* Partial Midi support.
* Bug fixes.
Thanks to David Randolph for releasing the source code for IsoKeys 0.76 and earlier under the GPLv3. It has been a great help for learning to develop for Android. This is the first app that I've released. (I'm now also learning the jammer!)
Note that ads and tracking have been removed in this release (too much of a learning curve). I intend to bring back the ads, but there will be a donation version without ads. F-Droid users will never see ads on this app (http://f-droid.org/ ).
