About as reliable as a 100 year old car. This app constantly would disconnect from my phone with vr never completly working. Once tracking worked before immediately crashing. The other time I saw video but the game didnt show on screen when I was given control. Interface is good but ive had nothing besides issues when ive used it.
I absolutely hate this. I spent about two hours trying to get this setup when it should've taken about 2 minutes. I followed every step to get this to work and nothing. It just times out or stays on "awaiting stream". I'm going to make sure to spread the word that this app is horrible and make sure no one else has to deal with it. Get your act together devs!
Tried the trial a couple of months back and it worked flawlessly. Then the anniversary deal came up so I thought I would buy it. Unfortunately now it doesnt seem to work in either Vive or Occulus modes. On the phone app I recieve a pink block of text with "awaiting vr stream" come up over it in white. It then goes out of vr and back to the white connected screen and repeats indefinately. This happens with both the wifi and usb connection types. In steam when I launch vr mode it also gives an on screen error. It is a shame as the demo showed real potential. Hopefully this issue will be resolved as I am realy looking forward to playing vr games.
So far this app is working amazing as of July 2017. I heard about this in a Youtube video, so I broke out the flimsy phone VR and used a wired usb connection to the phone. I have only used the 10 minute sessions so far, but it is confirmed working on a Note 4 and Elephone P8 Mini. I have to say it delivered on my end. It streamed smooth 1080p 60fps to both phones no problem via wired connection. The wifi connection has more latency, and always will depending on your wifi connection and speed. Setup was quick and simple: sign up on the website, download the client on your pc and phone, log in, choose method of connection (wired or wifi), get the Steam VR client via steam, setup Steam VR, and open up your VR compatible games, and VOILA cheap gaming pc VR. To clarify: the gaming experience also depends on the caliber of pc that you have. I personally have a low end gaming pc: Intel pentium G3220 3.0 ghz, R7 370 2GB, and 8GB DDR3 Ram. Games that worked great for me were War Thunder and Project cars at mid to high settings to achieve 60 fps at 1080p. Overall the gaming experience was enjoyable and comfortable. I would like to see atleast a 30 minute test trial for thourough testing for the consumers before spending 15 dollars. Otherwise it is a fantastic app. FOR PEOPLE WITH MORE MONEY TO SPEND look to invest in a PiMax 4k VR headset with proper hdmi connections and built in 4k display for only 300 bucks.
App constantly crashes on your phone when you start one of THEIR games from the PC app. Then their support center completely ignores you. Busted app don't download
Works great, playing Arkham Asylum now through steam using Big screen Beta. A few times I've needed to close and restart steam vr, but works extremely well. Can't wait for the audio streaming to get ironed out
Improved crash reporting to be more reliable.
