My Ring Pro Doorbell, worked fine up until Feb 4, the motion detection feature quit working out the blue. I was running Android 6.0.1 then, now I'm running Android 7.0, same issue. I've reset the door bell, uninstalled & re-installed the app. Still nothing. Update. It turns out my zones weren't set, so the motion detection feature stopped functioning. Easy fix also the speaker in the unit was dead, they took care of me. GREAT customer service, I didn't have to jump through any hoops to get a replacement unit. 👍
Very disappointed with the product up to this point. The battery lasted only 1 month on my doorbell before I had to recharge it! The sensors work VERY inconsistently. Even with the Motion Settings out to the maximum of 30 feet and the Smart Alerts set to Frequent, the camera will not capture motion until you are less than 3 feet from it. And the capture of the image doesn't occur until after the person has passed the camera, so what good is it to catch a thief if they've already gone by the camera? Not working as advertised in the videos. Be vary wary of this product.
So far I have yet to have the Ring Pro or Chime x 2, actually go through setup properly w/Android; just to setup, I had to use my wife's 6S which worked on the first shot... I tried an easy 15 times on Ring and more than that between the two Chimes... Once setup it works great, although the Chimes are still a nuisance. But I don't suspect that the Android app is to blame, possibly just a bad batch of firmware.
Bad experience with this device. My ring never stayed on the bracket(never), and my motion detector stopped working after my update in February. When I called customer service (great people) they couldn't even help me. It's boxed up now in a corner. What a Christmas gift.
My apartment was broken in to twice while I was sleeping. I didn't know how I was going to get my since of security back. I bought a Ring Wi-Fi Video Doorbell and now I know who is at my door or who is walking by all the time. Thanks to Ring.
App is OK, but if you live in the north east or anywhere with cold temperatures, you will be removing and charging your doorbell every month or so. The motion range adjuster isn't quite accurate yet, even with alert settings it's becomes annoying when you have both pedestrian and vehicle traffic on your block.
The latest update to the Ring app includes bug fixes and the following improvements:
- Multiple Delete and Delete All
You can now easily delete multiple events or all of your events at once by swiping right in the activity screen.
- Event Starring
You can also star your events by swiping right in the activity screen, and they'll never get deleted.
