About this app

The "1952" app has been created to tell what happened in the language movement that took place on February 21, 1952 to demand that Bengali be made the state language. On this day Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar and many others were martyred. The Shaheed Minar was erected in memory of the language martyrs. Subsequently, on 16 November 1999, UNESCO recognized the day as 'International Mother Language Day'.

Launch the “1952” app, press the ‘Start’ button and hold the camera of your mobile phone on the Shaheed Minar of the 2 Taka note.

The main goal of the "1952" app is to show this spirit of Ekushey and the daring form of self-sacrifice for the mother tongue of the language martyrs to all people big and small. We hope that the events and significance of the language movement will reach people anew through the use of the "1952" app.

The “1952” app is a new way for people to learn about what happened in the Language Movement of 21st February of 1952. On this day, Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar, and many others met martyrdom for our language. Shahid Minar had been erected in remembrance of them. Later, on 17 November 1999, UNESCO declared 21st February as the International Mother Language Day.

The aim of this app is to educate and inspire our generation to learn more about the achievement and glory that our Language Martyrs did for our mother tongue in 1952. We expect, through using the “1952” app people will learn the actual history of 21st February of 1952 and cognition of International Mother Language Day.
