I initially rated this app at 1 star because I couldn't figure it out. I was trying to move old text messages from an old phone over to a new phone without overwriting my current messages. Turns out that this ability is in the "transfer" menu option, on the pull-down from the upper left part of the page. I installed this app on both phones, made the transfer, easy peasy.

OK, but could be great with one simple change. They need to generate backup files in file formats that can be easily transferred from a smart phone to a computer or external hard drive. You can email individual texts, or text strings with 30 or 40 texts, but nothing larger because of file size limitations of email providers. I want to be able to transfer ALL texts. Using the Cloud to store SMS backups is dangerous, because sophisticated criminals or criminal enterprises can access the files.

Rating: 10/10 - Been using the app for almost 10 years. Worked as a professional device technician & specialist & always recommended clients used this to back up messages, especially on Android devices. Does the job & does it well with the ability to back up years of content using multi cloud options including GOOGLE DRIVE. You can set up automatic back-up to keep the save files up to date if you loose or break your device. Great app, much respect to the team behind it. Get PRO for ad-free!
