The Great Dictionary of the Polish Language PAN is a combination of the functions of many dictionaries, including: phraseological, etymological, inflectional, thematic, correct.
It contains older and newest vocabulary as well as numerous examples from a computer corpus of texts, a detailed description of idioms related to a given entry, characteristic word combinations and their syntax, the full conjugation of each word, origin, dates of the earliest attestations of words in the history of the Polish language, assignment of words to thematic vocabulary groups, information about the incorrectness of certain connections and uses, and many other elements.
The dictionary is developed at the Institute of the Polish Language of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow under the supervision of prof. dr hab. Piotr Żmigrodzki. By the end of 2023, approximately 90,000 have been developed. passwords.
The dictionary is under development. New entries appear there every day.
