Don't buy it! I paid for the Kickstarter and feel robbed. There seems to be no interest in getting the Android port working, they should never have promised Android support until they were sure it would work. Misled into buying it on the basis it would work with Android. Not bothering with any Kickstarter stuff now. Third time I have been burned... not again :(
Useless on S3 Freezes after approximately 15 seconds. Reboot of phone is the only way to get it working again ... for another 15 seconds. ZERO stars. I'd rate it a POS but I'm too polite to use the term. Also lacks logging, graphing and alarm. iPad app works better.
Doesn't work on Note 3 - Updated Update 2014-02-11: New app update finally brought support for Note 3. The measurements are 10 degree C off and cannot be compensated with settings or calibrated. Tested with black and premium device, still useless. Update Jan. 2015: Still garbage, my portable IR keychain thermo works better. Tossing the app and the product, regret supporting it on Kickstarter
No love for Android The design is cool, the concept is cool. But the Android version of the app has been forgotten and left to die. Look at the ios version. Has all the bells and whistles. I backed this thing from the beginning on Kickstarter with the promise of a solid app, Android and ios. But alas, they lied and now the Thermodo is barely functional. They haven't updated the app since February!
No longer working with 3-pole extension cable I tested the app on my LG G2 and LG G Pad 8.3 with my Thermodo and it works great. The temperature was about 8° off from my thermocouple thermometer, but after compensating for warmness and letting the dongle adjust to the environment, it matched perfectly. The latest update seems to have killed support for my three-pole extension cable. The Thermodo is only working if it is plugged directly into my device now where before it worked with the extension cable.
Great Edit: Still no history support. Please add history asap. Does it what its supposed to do. Please add a line graph that shows the change in temperature readings over time. That would be really helpful. Even if it just allowed us to export an excel document with historic values. Should be relatively simple to implement.
New in version 1.2
- You can now fine-tune device heat compensation with a slider on the settings page.
- Overall improvements to stability of temperature readings.
- Improved temperature readings Samsung Galaxy S3.
- Improved automatic adjustment of volume. On some models the volume wasn't adjusted
correctly which would degrade measurement quality.
- Fixed an issue with 'Follow on Twitter' button when the native Twitter app wasn't installed.
