I enjoy this game a lot. The strategy element is well-balanced and a duel can turn on a dime. The pay model seems fair; pay-to-collect-quickly rather than pay-to-win. I miss the slow pace of a Hero Academy duel (where a game could take weeks but you could play many games simultaneously) but I can live without that. My one major gripe is that I can't play a practice game slowly (pick it up for ten minutes and then finish the game later) or offline. This would be a perfect time-killer on the tube if I could. All told, a well-designed sequel to an already-great game.
The first hero academy was my favorite mobile game of all time. I have yet to find anything that compares. Hero academy 2 is such a disappointment.. so much changed; for the worst. $$$$.. hope it was worth it. I had so much faith in this company and was so excited when I heard they were making another. What a let down. I have lost faith in there ever being another game like the original hero academy; at least for a long time.. I've tried so many games, and nothing even comes close. Be prepared to be saddened if you were a fan of the first like I was. You will see the bad differences Immidiately.
Overall really enjoying the new deck building aspect of the game. A few things I would like.... First would be the ability to mulligan your starting hand completely once without losing any cards, perhaps allow further mulligans but at the cost of 1 card each after the first free one. Also I think that it would be great if decks could be a little larger than 30 cards, maybe make deck building min 30 up to max 35 or 40, no more than that. This obviously allows a player to add more to thier decks with the negative of not having as reliable draws. Just a thought. I also think that you should make the pack you can buy with gold contain 5 cards. Thanks for reading.
Way over complicated compared to the original one. Real life money to get better cards to win instead of using skill. Minimal strategy required to win. Just spend money on better cards to swarm all your opponents. [Edit:] In game packs are rubbish. You don't even get enough to unlock the units featured in the practice campaign. Yeah the awesome units featured in the practice campaign are hidden behind a huge pay wall. Game was released in October 17 but went global in Jan 18. Duel Arena is in Season 6 now. If you're a new player, other players have a 3 month advantage over you in terms of units and farming. You won't stand a chance in Duel mode. Campaign mode? Nah, you have to pay to unlock the campaign lol. Really messed up game.
I enjoy playing this game please add more cards and content great overall :)
One of the best strategy games I've played in a while. Nice job devs
