Ratings and reviews

Really in depth app that you can tell the creators have our a lot of effort into. It goes far beyond just trying to teach you vocabulary and grammar, which is interesting. The speech recognition for Chinese is driving me crazy though. The app almost never detects the single syllable words because it's too short of an audio sample and sometimes detects English words as if I was trying to say them in a bad Chinese accent.

The content is pretty good and the review process is pretty good. But I bought the app for its ability to grade my speech. This ability is severely lacking. Sometimes it grades things that I clearly say wrong as right. And sometimes it grades things that I say right as something that isn't even close. There's also times when I say a word and it picks up a word that is different and graves me wrong. Even though that word has the same sound and tone. This makes no sense.

It's good thus far even though I just bought it. But, I feel the voice recognition technology is a little wonky at times. For what this course is worth you'd expect everything to run smoothly. I am not a beginner, so it will be hard to determine how effective the course truly is at teaching French from zero. It looks promising, however, and I do hope this takes my French to the next level.
