Transitions are SLOW (2 yr old flagship phone). Zooming is jumpy (area shown jumps to completely different area shortly after zooming in). Can't zoom and move at same time to keep features centered. Freezes rendering at high zoom.
The latest update has broken the app. When reading comics (epubs at least) it now scales the image strangely so that the image is small and most of the screen is filled with a papery background. Changing the image scaling in the menu has no effect--it always reverts to "Fit height", which it doesn't actually do. The comics are too small to read. Happy to change the rating if this is addressed.
... that there is. I use this on a transformer 101 and it is the perfection of what digital comics should be. the only thing I'd improve (beyond perfection!) is double page handling ... maybe specific double page spread options to fit height our width and them start top left or right .... but it *is* perfect. Currently using on a new device, and it's amazing, but it crashes Android Nougat on NVIDIA SHIELD.
I'm increasing my rating to 4 stars. I stopped using the app for a while because I thought the management of the library since support for epub had been introduced was awful. I try the app again today and the management of the library is much improved and is now usable. If I could suggest something, it would be nice to have options to show only PDF, Epub, or any other supported format separately in the library instead of having to display everything at the same time. I have a huge collection of epub but I use the app mainly for comics so I'd like to see only cbr or PDF most of the time. I always thought the support for epub was not required as Perfect Viewer as its name was a perfect "viewer" for comics. At present the support for epub is ok specially considering the app is free but it's far from competing with other epub reader apps. A last suggestion, I like the backgrounds looking like paper for epub reading but I don't use them because they're too coloured, too dark. If you could make them paler, less saturated, more white really, that would be great. If you ever manage to make epub support as good as something like Bookari, the app would deserve 5 stars. If it were only a comic book viewer like it used to be, it would still deserve 5 stars. As it is with imperfect epub support, it deserves 4 stars. The way the developer is improving the app, I think it might eventually regain the missing star. Keep up the good work.
The best manga/comic reader on the market with regular updates that improve and make this, already great app, an even better one. I thank you, Rookie001 team, for an awesome app.
I have a love/hate relationship with this app at first worked fine then i changed the reading direction and every comic i changed the reading direction for it would say file not found i had to delete the my comics folder and make a new one and redownload all my comics so frustrating never touch the reading direction button
