Great concept, poorly conceived. The app freezes and crashes regularly. And instead of learning a few characters and then taking a quiz to test your knowledge, you go through the entire alphabet of flashcards (in the same order every time) and take a quiz of random characters. It could be awesome with some minor tweaks. I purchased the physical cards. Hopefully. Those will work better for me.

What a great little app, I have learnt the Hiragana with this app within a couple of days. I know there is an option to hide answers, but i was wondering how difficult it would be to add additional options to increase the multiple choice options from just 4 to 6,8,12 etc, so it makes it a little more difficult to choose the correct answer. Also wondering if you could add a "Pair Match" game where you have a large grid of about 50 squares and you have to match the Hiragana with its Romaji and as you match each pair they disappear. Maybe adding some timers to assist with learning to read faster. Hope this helps :) Any news on the Kanji app yet?

Hey! Thanks for the feedback and ideas. I like the pair match idea but I think text input/spelling games would be more useful? The Kanji app is out but it will be absorbed and remade in a new app this year providing I don´t grow into my sofa.

This app is amazing and helped me learn both hiragana and katakana in less than two weeks! I did this every day and I can read Japanese letters now! One quality of life thing I would like to have though is that the back button should go back a menu because I instinctively press it instead of the back button at the top left.
