This app and the online web site have been handy for some planning, and quite a bargain for free. I would like to see some definite indication of what the app is doing. I have attempted to map several routes with no apparent results before figuring out, by experiment, how the app works. It is not easily apparent whether the app is set up properly or working at all.
My Mobile Coverage #1 Sensorly 2nd, Root Metrics 3d but getting worse. Open signal maps & Cellmapper tied 4th, coverage mapper 5th but no longer supporting/updating, and cellumap a distant 6th. But we should use all of them at the same time to create evidence carriers can't ignore. Each collects different data needed to see network problems.
Untrustworthy data,it's false This app shows in the coverage maps as good service and when I test and see my signal levels are poor. This makes it false information and untrustworthy. Is Verizon paying money for this to show different?
Best coverage map I've used the web based version on my pc plenty of times, the app is equally good. A lot of other coverage maps are either outdated or grossly inaccurate. This one seems to be the closest to reality.
Works well, uses a lot of data I used to love network testing, but since the newest update it has become data intensive. Now I completely understand why the data tearing became mandatory, it makes sense, but I did 5 minutes of testing and consumed about 100MB of data. Doing that everyday and it adds up. Please find a way to run a data efficient test.
!!!! In my area, 17881 Verizon is the ONLY one that has 4G LTE and awesome speeds. The others. AT&T average = 2.56 mbps; Tmobile/Sprint = 0 coverage. So why does the map show bad for Verizon? Either nobody did the study or you don't accept the reports or haven't done any reports for years.
