www.rowclock.com is a website and mobile app allowing a fast, cheap and easy way of producing results for timed rowing races.
This app provides the method for the people doing the timing, to do the timing! It can be used on Android phones and tablets which have internet access.
It provides a list of all the entrants and their details.
During the race, the user pushes a button to log when each entry reaches that timing station (e.g. Start or Finish), allowing for unknown numbers, extra entries and no shows. The app is time synced automatically.
Numbers, times and any notes can be added or modified after the time has been recorded.
Immediately after the last boat in a division has past the timing point the application allows the Race Timer to upload the results to www.rowclock.com
As a backup, the results can be emailed directly to the race administrator. However, this is unlikely to ever be necessary, as the website is hosted upon Microsoft's reliable and scalable Azure cloud.
The results are calculated immediately, and can be viewed on the web as they come in (or this can be restricted to just the clubhouse if desired).
Division/Category/Overall times are calculated, along with veteran handicaps following the British Rowing handicap system.
Race administrators can modify results, or upload backup timing results via www.rowclock.com.
Multiple users at each timing point can be used as a backup.
The races can be set up with intermediate timing points (e.g. at 500m in 1000m race), or with multiple start/finishes (e.g. in a race with 2 sections with a pause in the middle, such as a head-to-head race).
www.rowclock.com is a mobile friendly website, so can be used from phones.
Entries can be uploaded in csv (comma separated value) format.
Results can be downloaded in csv format.
