First run wasn't great, but the route editor is a godsend. GPS is tricky at the best of times - more so when you can't look at the display - luckily the online editor lets you add your own navigation instructions as needed.
Saw this app on Dragon's Den and installed it. It is a fabulous app. Easy UI, nice settings, uncomplicated. The one issue I have is that the settings do not offer options about what is shared publicly within the app. So, for example, if you start from your home and walk to work, save and name the route "home to work" then EVERYONE using the app sees that. Safety issue, I say. I enjoy using apps like this, but am careful about what I post - on every social media outlet and anywhere online. So, in saying that, I can not use this great app unless there is a way to opt out posting everywhere I run.
Pretty good, the navigation is the feature I've been looking for. It has gotten a little confused, but nothing too horrible. Would benefit from a countdown timer for those of us who need time to properly holster the phone. Also like a place to view my routes at anytime. Route creating is much easier on web than in app.
I just downloaded this app an hour or two ago. Even though I was not running at the time, I downloaded one of the local routes in the app and pressed the "Run This" button to see what would happen. I heard voice instructions, but could not understand them since they were in a foreign language (not English). It almost sounded like Russian or an Eastern European language. Please advise how to set the language to English, or if I need to possibly change a setting in my Android OS. Thanks!!
EDIT - 2/14/2017 - DEV responded quickly and says he has a fix for syncing next week. Changing to 3 stars for now. Will test again. How frickin' hard is it to sync a map back to my phone after I update it on the web site? All I can say is it is a good thing I didn't have to rely on this stupid app on Sunday or I'd still be lost. I make a SIGNIFICANT change to a route and the stupid phone had no idea. It kept telling me I was off course. Time to find a new app. Is there anything else out there like rungo that actually works???
I've tried a few turn-by-turn navigation apps for running with and this is by far the best I have come across. Create routs before you go out, I've been exporting my runs from Strava and Endomondo and using the import feature to get the route set up, but you can start from scratch using markers on the map. My top tips: 1. Always go over the route on the PC before you save it, search for any missing markers or oddities. 2. The app does not compensate for shortened road names, such as LN for Lane or RD for Road, worst id DR for Drive which does get expanded to Doctor! so I have manually changed any road names before saving the map. 3. Occasionally it will 'miss' a turning from the map, so go over the route and makes sure all the turns are added 4. Add tips if you are heading towards a traffic island, I use the left/straight/right arrow and add extra text to be spoken so i know which exit I should be heading for 5. Add tips on the approach to large junctions/islands if you need to be on a particular side of the road to safely navigate it. My only grievance is the dr, ln, ave, rd etc not being correctly expanded automatically, other than that I am loving this app.
