Nomad Insurance provides medical coverage for injuries or illness and travel coverage for delays and interruptions. It covers you all over the world outside your home country: with one policy, you're automatically covered in 175+ countries.

It's flexible: buy before you leave or at any point during your travels. Get coverage for a single trip or automatically extend it every month to travel worry-free, which you can cancel anytime for a full refund for the remaining days.

Ratings and reviews

App was unable to handle uploading necessary documents for filing a claim, and ended up locking up when attempting to send reports. Information requested by the app was not the same as what was later requested. This then led to a neverending cycle of emails being sent back and forth. Responses were awkward and slow and ultimately ended up in confusion. Several attempts to utilize "contact us" through both the app and website could either not be sent or simply went unanswered.

Their claims require a level of documentation that is not global practice, and highly difficult to obtain outside of western countries. You will be left holding both bags. Furthermore, the monthly cost of this insurance is roughly five times that of an extremely extensive clinic visit anywhere outside the US. Save your money and just pay out of pocket when you need to. You know, the highly disturbing choice to have anthropomorphized birds as their mascots should've been the tip off.

I am extremely disappointed with how my insurance claim was handled. I submitted a valid claim with complete and accurate documents, yet it was still denied without a clear or reasonable explanation. The process was slow, unprofessional, and lacked transparency. Despite following all the requirements and policy terms, the claim was rejected as if the effort and financial burden on the customer did not matter at all. I would not recommend this insurance provider.
