Dead app!!! What's all the renewed hoopla? The FCC has had a speed test app in the Play Store for a few years. This is just a major update.
Look, the government might be doing something cool! The intent is cool, I like it. Phone doing something meaningful while I read the news and play dumb games and otherwise spend my time inefficiently.. :)
Very Functional Meter I used it to test which was faster; my WiFi (which is WiMaxx) via Cisco Router....Or....StraightTalk (TracFone blah blah) this part of Michigan is Verizon coverage totally........Let me just say; Verizon 3G smokes!!! The WiMAXX is good though. - Samsung Galaxy S3..just to say StraightTalk works good and so is Net10 - still TracFone main network
Surprised to say it... but good app! Results are probably the most accurate over a lot of other apps which I'v tested. The one thing developer understood is to do away with advertisements which hinder data speeds and in turn inaccurate readings when the results are posted at the end of test. Well done for the FCC;-)
Great idea I love the purpose of this. Instead of just doing useless speed tests, results from this app are actually utilized for something purposeful!
The best Open source, the best for testing wifi and mobile. Gives me latency, packet loss. Wish it'd give me a range of ping times, because it must ping it many times. Could use material design, and I need to share my crappy ISP results via social media. Doesn't let me for no good reason. Other than that, it's the best I've found so far.
Corrected an issue that could under-report fast upload speeds.
Removed some unnecessary permissions.
Various bug fixes.
