The following permissions are required for the app. You can use the app without optional permissions, but some functions may be limited.

[Optional access permissions]
• Nearby devices: Used to scan for nearby devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) (Android 12 over)
• Location: Used to find nearby devices using Bluetooth or BLE and to automate actions using GPS (GPS is optional)
• Camera: Used to scan QR codes
• Contacts: Used to get phone numbers of your contacts to send text message notifications
• Microphone: Used to provide voice control features
• Storage: Used to save data and to transfer files and content using the app
• Phone: Used to make calls on smart speakers and to show information about the sender when sharing content with another device

Ratings and reviews

This is the worst app I've ever used. It will work one moment then stop working altogether. Other times it will allow you to turn other items on and off, but won't sync to control them. When it run a diagnosis, it doesn't find any issues. Though it still won't let you use it on other Samsung products. Uninstalling and going to a third party. Would not recommend.

The last update is horrible! It also took we way too long to figure out how to turn the volume up on the TV, using this app. I now have to use the volume buttons on the side of my phone, which is just weird. I have about 50% chance of the app even turning my TV on if I need to use the app. I use app when ever my kids loose the remote. But know I'm just temped to go buy back up remotes from Amazon and just mount one on the end table, bc this app is more trouble than it's worth.

Not sure about this update. I really liked how it looked before. The interface was easier to use too, especially for adjusting routines, which I need to do weekly because of the nature of my job. Plus, it's just a bit buggy in general- sometimes I press the button to turn my lights on via my task bar and it just buffers for 30 seconds and I have to either close everything to retry or fully open the app and somehow it instantly connects.

What's new

In order to provide you with better services, some features have been improved in the new version.

- We have updated the flow for device onboarding for a smoother and easier pairing experience.

- We are changing the name of “Scenes” to “Manually Run Routines.” You can add "Manually Run Routines" and "Automatic Routines" under "Routines" > "Create Routines"
