ATTENTION! Starting Android 5.x (Lollipop) applications can not answer incoming calls anymore (at least without rooting the device). For this reason Handsfree will not work on new devices or after upgrading the OS and I see no reason to further develop the app. Thanks everybody.
You can personalize the following behavior for music, call and idle mode:
Idle mode (When between calls and playing music)
Launch Music player or Radio (Select a specific player, including radio, to launch and control or just keep the last one used)
Redial last number
This application has been designed for use with the standard Android music player, but also tested for Walkman Player and a variety of other music players. If your application doesn’t work as expected, please try to activate/deactivate the headset control in the music player itself since it may be in conflict with this application.
The Smart Key application supports Android 4.0 and above and is designed for Sony Xperia™. It will also support other Android devices although its functionality may be limited.
This application is developed for wired headsets only.
Disclaimer: For coming Android releases, headset control behavior may change. This may or may not interfere with this application. The application may be upgraded accordingly, provided it can be handled from the application and not the Android system only.
For Android Lollipop it is no longer possible to customize call actions.
Please enjoy your Sony headset with this headset control application, making life a little easier.

New 'Premium' version is now available (just $1) and includes the much requested widget + auto reconnect after phone calls. Free version will continue to get bug fixes, but most new features will be targeted at the Premium version. Thanks for your support! (If you've donated in the past via PayPal just shoot me an email and I'll get you set up with a free copy of the premium version)
Simple app to stream audio to your bluetooth mono headset. Please upgrade to Premium if you'd like to support development.
Requires Android 2.2 or higher. Tested on stock HTC Evo 4G ROM (2.2) and CM7 RC1. Leave feedback and ask questions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950472
- Widget (premium only)
- Auto restart after phone call (premium only)
- Customize your Android's color (premium only)
- Automatically enable Bluetooth on app launch (user can still choose not to allow this). Make sure your headset is actually CONNECTED before hitting 'On.'
- In-app 'Media Volume' control. Adjust the 'Bluetooth In-Call Volume' using the physical buttons on your phone or headset.
- Ongoing Status Bar notification while the program is running.
- Automatic turn on at app launch available via Menu-->Preferences. Note - if enabled your headset must be connected before running BTmono.
- ICS (Android 4.0) support including use of Holo theme
- Limited Skype support (if enabled after call is started). Please note - microphone routing is not possible on Samsung phones and may not be possible on GSM phones - sorry.
- Make sure your headset is connected BEFORE clicking 'On'
- To use with Skype you must enable BTmono AFTER starting a Skype call. Microphone routing does not appear to be possible on Samsung phones (without some ugly hacks, at least) because of Samsung's efforts to prevent phone call recording. Microphone routing may also be impossible on GSM phones due to API limitations. Please don't rate the program lowly due to this - Skype support is not the point of this app!
- To reduce static, set the 'Media Volume' slider to max and reduce the 'Bluetooth In-Call Volume' via your phone/headset.
- This version contains a workaround for a bug in Android 2.2 which causes a system crash under certain circumstances. If you are on 2.2, do NOT disable Bluetooth while the stream is running or your phone WILL reboot (sorry - tell your phone manufacturer to move to 2.2.1+). The bug has been fixed as of Android 2.2.1.
Adjusts your phones volume when connected to Bluetooth and restores volume on disconnect.
This app is perfect for people that always adjusting the volume on their phone immediately after connecting to Bluetooth in the car. This app will do that for you automatically.
Also has an option to launch a Car Home when you connect to Bluetooth.
Donate version is available if you want to help support this project.
Just launch this app and it will quickly switch your Bluetooth mode and close itself.
Save battery life & block hackers.
If you already have Bluetooth on, launching this app will switch it off. If off, launching this app turns it on.
This app lets you choice to route the sound trough your headset, headphone, earset, speaker or bluetooth. It's useful if the phone doesn't detect your headset and you want to route the sound trough there anyway.
This app is a full refactor of the previous app, new routing techniques and better bluetooth support.
Bluetooth suport is still in beta due to android limitations, if you have a bluetooth device that only support telephone calls, Sound route switcher won't probably help you.
If it doesn't work for your device instead of rate it bad, uninstall within the first 15 minutes and you will got refund!
Previous Buyers, if you bought the old APP, send me an email with your Name, Order Number and order date and I will email you the app for free.
New Buyers, if you buy the app fot bluetooth purpose, check it works within the first 15 min and unistall for a refund if it doesn't. Bluetooth support depends on the bluetooth device.
Road map for future versions:
- Better UI
- Better Bluetooth support
- Sound route Widget
This tool can scan for surrounding visible bluetooth devices. It shows the device type, supported services and the signal strength. It can also be used to locate a device based on the signal strength. Devices like Headsets are usually only visible during the pairing phase. Thus you might not be able to track your lost headset even if it is still connected.
*** PLEASE NOTE: Devices with Android below 4.3 can not be supported by the new features. You will receive the last working version before the changes. Any other device with Android 4.3 or higher will receive the new features like new UI and LE scanning. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused by the last updates. ***
- Support for Bluetooth LE scanning (including LE attributes and characterstics)
- Database support. All scanned devices are now stored in a database and can be reviewed. Stored data includes the time a device is first seen and when it was last seen.
- List currently paired devices
- Scan for visible devices
- Shows Device Name, BDADDR (like MAC), Class of Device, Vendor and Signal Strength
- Query SDP services from devices
- Query Bluetooth LE attributes and characteristics
- Pair / Unpair to devices
The Database can be exported to a csv file on the external storage. Filename is: btcrawler-.csv
The csv has the following order: Device Name, Device Address, Class of Device, Pairing Status, Last Signal Strength, First Time Seen, Last Time Seen, Vendor.
The Database can also be wiped. For both functions hit the menu button.
Over the time I will add more features as I find more ways to mangle the API a bit more.
(People call btCrawler often also: BluetoothScanner, Bluetooth Scanner, Bluetooth Sniffer, BluetoothSniffer, Bluetooth Wardriving, Bluetooth Diagnostic, Bluetooth Tool)

How to use Bluetooth Pair? Simple, make sure your Android device can handle at least one of those mentioned Bluetooth profiles (A2DP or/and HSHFP), go to "Bluetooth Settings" ("Settings" -> "Wireless & networks" -> "Bluetooth Setting" or "Settings" -> "Bluetooth"). Pair with the desired device (a car audio system for example) and make sure you can enable or disable the Bluetooth profiles. The way this is done varies from device to device, see your owners manual.
Ok, so you can handle at least one Bluetooth profile and your Android device is configured and working to pair with your desired Bluetooth device. Now do a long touch on your home screen to choose the widget and then select Bluetooth Pair, select a Bluetooth Profile, select a paired Bluetooth device and that's it. An icon with the name of your device will appear on the home screen. When the profile is turned on the icon will be colorful otherwise black & white. Toggle on/off the Bluetooth profile by touching on the widget. You can have many Bluetooth Pair widgets on your home screen.
- Make sure your device can handle at least one of those mentioned Bluetooth profiles.
- Some devices may require at least once a PIN number to get paired, when that happens an input PIN screen will appear.
- The widget has been tested on Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich using phones from Samsung, Sony and Motorola.
In case of bugs, questions or requests please send me an e-mail.
(similar to Bluetooth Launch, but can unlock your phone and allows multiple searches too)

A little history
►Version 1.03 brings improved second button press detection ("Fight for mic") and "Protect in Pocket" mode to prevent unwanted screen touches when phone is woken up in the pocket.
►Keyguard unlocking is reported to be fixed in v1.04 for Lollipopped Nexus users.
►If previous versions couldn't unlock your phone, I'd suggest to try the new 1.05 version
►Unless you own an LG or Samsung, you might need to manually disable carrier/manufacturer preinstalled voice dialing software. Tutorial here: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/02/06/how-to-disable-system-apps-in-android-beginners-guide/
►Install Hint2Search → Open it
►[Samsungs/LGs: press "Disable S/Voice/Command" and follow instructions]
Important: Be sure to restart your phone after disabling!
►Select whether keyguard should be bypassed (non-secure "swipe lock" only! → use Lollipop SmartLock to skip security)
►Press the button on the Headset
►Select Hint2Search (NOT GOOGLE SEARCH!) in the "Complete action using..." dialog box
and that is it: you are good to go
►Unlock keyguard: Enabled by default: button press will wake AND unlock phone to start Google Now (for security locks configure Lollipop SmartLock).
►Fight for mic: Kills Google Now process to gain mic focus. Warning: may mess up Google Experience Launcher (Nexus default).
►Protect in pocket: Engages touch-protection veil, if light sensor indicates phone to be in pocket when phone woken by button.
►Vibrate to prompt: This is an experimental feature: might not work well (useful if your headset cuts out the prompt sound for Google Now)
Hint2Search will only unlock the non-secure keyguard (such as the default swipe to unlock). Use the app Dislock, SkipLock or the SmartLock lollipop feature to unlock your phone as long as it's connected to the headset. http://goo.gl/VB7cD3 or http://goo.gl/6mEKAD
Similar to Bluetooth Launcher, but:
►you can issue multiple searches
►it can unlock the keyguard
►optional screen protection will prevent accidental screen touches in pocket
IT'S ORIGINALLY MADE FOR THE HINT, BUT REPORTED TO ALSO WORK WITH:
►Sony Ericsson HBH-DS200
►Car Bluetooth system with Galaxy Tab 3
►Sykla M1 smartwatch
(Please let us know if you successfully test a headset model not yet on the list. Remember, it's worth a try, refund is automatic within 2 hours, just shoot me an email with your order number if outside)
Join this Google Group for beta versions, Q&A and bug reports: https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en#!forum/hint2search-beta-testers (Touchless Notification integration is coming soon in the beta!)
Note: With the Play Store auto-refund window extension to 2 hours I don't see the need for a trial version. Please check to see if Hint2Search solves it for you, and be sure even if you go beyond the 2 hours I give unconditional refunds within a week of your purchase.
NEW: A2DP Keepalive Support. Your A2DP speakers/receiver go to sleep when not playing music, but being connected? The next usage is going weird? With A2DP support you can prohibit your A2DP speakers/receiver from going to standby. Speakers will give a regular sound to prevent standby mode.

Before you buy, please check on this website, if BTKA can really help you:
Some Samsung smartphones have activated "energy saving" mode. Please be sure to turn it off (Maybe test before buying BTKA, if that already helps you). BTKA does not need "root" - only the rights requested by the Market.
After installation start BTKA manually. It registers with Android™ and will from now on start automatically whenever you restart your Android™. After starting the app there is a "Configuration" button (visible for 2 seconds), with that you can change the configuration settings for notifications and the starting-behaviour of BTKA. For hints on how to configure BTKA correctly see the check page above.
