ScanCode App is a mobile platform that empowers consumer to verify products and discover more product information for maintaining consumer confidence and healthy living. Through mobile devices consumers can scan e-mark/barcodes attached on products to get trusted and authentic product information anywhere anytime at their fingertips. A platform provides trustworthy data and a consistent brand experience, while reducing consumer product fraud and counterfeit products in the market.

Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) is using the service, interested with app and electronic mark which has the following merits.
1.1 Scannable, thus it can provide basic product details (i.e. License status, Product type, and the like) for quality assurance purposes i.e. market surveillance, customer satisfaction, and the like.
1.2 Securable, thus it cannot be misused, can reduce substandard products.
1.3 Controllable, thus it can only be applied by authenticated certified customers.
1.4 Used to easy market surveillance activities conducted by TBS inspectors.
1.5 Higher influencer of the trust to customers, thus it may increase selling of products in local and foreign markets.
