About this app

How we use our devices and the security risks that we're concerned with change depending on our current environment. We may use different apps when we're at work vs at home. And we might avoid using or accessing certain apps or sensitive data when traveling or connected to untrusted networks.

Obscurity makes your mobile device environment-aware, monitoring for events, applying device settings, and executing actions based on user-defined profiles to provide automated device security.

Obscurity allows you to define the environments you care about such as Home, Work, and Travel. And for each environment specify the device settings to allow/deny, the event conditions to monitor and their associated actions to automatically execute. You define the conditions for automatically switching between profiles, allowing the device functionality to be tailored as changes to the environment are detected, such as entering the Travel profile when the device leaves Home.

What kinds of events can be used as triggers?
- Failed password attempts
- Location changes
- NFC tag scans
- Scheduled events
- Screen Lock/Unlock and Power On/Off
- Timer / Stopwatch
- Changes in Wi-Fi networks
- Changes to Airplane Mode
- Insertion/Removal of a SIM card
- Application installs and uninstalls
- Battery conditions
- USB and External Storage events
- Bluetooth changes
- Ambient sensors such as light, temperature, pressure, humidity (if supported by hardware)
- Movement of your device
- Notifications

Please note: To detect location-based events, Obscurity requires access to your location in the background. Your location information is only used for the rules you configure and is not shared or used for ads.
