The Good = Its a throwback to the classic Sega title. Everything we love about Phantasy Star II is here. The Bad = Ads. I am not one to pick on them as i sometimes enjoy watching ads. But too much is not funny anymore. Paid version still gives you ads by the way. Saving is also an issue if youre offline. What is this, an online game??? Verdict = I was excited about the game coming out on Android because I followed most Phantasy Star games. I'd say i'm better off with emulators than this, or the GBA version (Phantasy Star Collection) for portability.
Ridiculous. Buy the game so i can play offline assuming that the reason it need to be online is ads... Then when i play offline it gives me ads and takes away the ability to save!!! Change this hideous dynamic please.
Even better than I remember. So much better to be able to anywhere. Only tip is to make sure to look up the maps online because the original game came with maps and the maps are ridiculously hard to navigate without a map or in-game mapping system
Great to play again +1 star now from my original review because they fixed the server login issue it seems. But now despite having paid for ad free version of game you are forced to watch at least one ad before you can login to server to show you paid or ad free.. this seems extremely shady to me can't condone it hence the low overall stars.. also a automatic attempt to sign into Google server instead of me having to do it manually would be nice.
I didn't have sega when I was a kid so I can't wait to see all the different games for this. Awesome game btw. I always heard good things so I am excited to see how this stacks up against SNES emulator
Controls could be tighter and the save/load system is needlessly complicated. But you are still getting a legit version of one of the best old school RPGs for the price of watching an ad when you want to save.
