MyMobileCoverage 1st place, CellMapper 2nd, OpenSignal tied with Sensorly 3rd, RootMetrics distant 4th but getting worse. But we should use all of them at the same time to create evidence carriers can't ignore. Each collects different data needed to see network problems.
I use this all the time to map T-Mobile during my travels. I leave it in passive mapping until I go on longer trips. Then I change it to Map a Trip and plug it into the power plug and let it do it's thing. Uploads almost immediately. Good app!
I've run this on the past 2 phones I had and while it was great to compare Verizon coverage maps to real world signals I find myself finally wishing for more from this app. Just switched to Project Fi and would love to see the 3 carriers for Fi overlayed in a Project Fi carrier selection both in app and on the website. Still giving 5 stars as it not a deal breaker, just a wish list item. Update Nov '17: Still wish for a Project Fi selection. Or at least option to select multiple carriers.
It had me wondering with the access this app said it needed. But I installed, then it asked me to accept the Terms and Conditions, when you have an EUA longer than the Declaration of Independence your in trouble. I declined and uninstalled. "I dont need no stinking app that bad." Please people start rejecting any app that doesnt use decent terms, something like GPL.
Data hasn't shown up on the map for over a week now. I looked at Details -> Reporting it has said over 5000 messages to send and status says sending for at least the last few days. Seems nothing is being sent to the server.
After last update the new swipe features on the map were a bit confusing. Took me a couple weeks to realize the swipe update... Thought the maps were jacked up. ...minus one star for not being able to see other users speed tests
