The Sharjah International Book Fair was launched in 1982 under the sustained guidance and
patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al-Qasimi, Member of the United Arab Emirates Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The 11-day event ( 1-11 November 2017 ) is held annually in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates to
be a beacon of well-established Arab and international culture, and feature several cultural
activities, children activities, discussion panels and live cooking demonstrations.
The Sharjah International Book Fair is much more than a remarkable trade show for the
publishing industry; it’s a passion for literature and critical thinking, contributing to the
enrichment of people’s cultural and intellectual wealth. It strives for beautiful words, written
philosophies and graphic cultures to become essential to all and to make this knowledge
shared among Emirates and the world at large.
