About this app

Cell Signal Monitor is a netmonitor for Android that shows the signal strength and quality of GSM, UMTS (WCDMA), LTE and NR (5G) cell towers in real time. An essential tool to check cell signal strength, measure mobile network speed and collect statistics about base stations near you.

CONNECTION OVERVIEW
The Overview tab shows the connection status (in service / emergency calls only / out of service / radio off), roaming indicator, duplex mode (FDD/TDD) and network type (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, LTE, NR and more) for each SIM card. Dual SIM devices are supported.

CARRIER AND CELL INFO
• Carrier name, country code (MCC) and network code (MNC)
• Current cell ID (CID) and area code (LAC/RNC/TAC)
• Signal strength: RSSI for GSM/UMTS, RSRP and RSRQ for LTE/NR
• Channel number (ARFCN), frequency band, CQI, BSIC, timing advance

REAL-TIME SIGNAL STRENGTH CHART
A clear signal strength chart (RSSI/RSRP) updates every second: the higher the signal, the better the cellular connection at your location.

MOBILE INTERNET SPEED
Download and upload speed charts let you check real mobile network speed — a built-in speed test. Download or upload a large file and watch the speed change on the chart. Maximum and average data speed are shown separately.

LOG AND STATISTICS
The log tracks changes in cell ID and signal strength, plus monitoring start/stop events. The statistics tab shows which base stations were used most often, with minimum and maximum signal strength over the selected period. Data from every section can be exported (shared) to other apps.

WIDGET AND NOTIFICATION
A home screen widget and a notification during background monitoring show the key cellular network parameters without opening the app.

Cell Signal Monitor is a handy tool for anyone who wants to check cell signal quality, find weak signal spots, track cell tower changes while roaming or traveling, and test mobile internet speed anywhere.

This app only works for the LTE network. As soon as your phone switches to the 5G NR network it stops detecting the signal whatsoever. It's so frustrating when this app loses the ability to detect the 5G signal especially in slightly remote areas where it's needed the most. It detects nothing not even a single damn 5G NR signal when the measuring service is running in the background.

Nice app, let's you know when you phone is bouncing off towers, and what locations in your home are steady for one tower. I happen to be in the middle of about 15 cells, but given that there can be 5-10 on one tower, this could be the cause. To developers-----A GREAT FEATURE. TO ADD* "THE FIRST" ACTUAL GOOGLE EARTH LICENSED TOWER PLOT MAP, GIVING THE EXACT.LOCATION of TOWER BASED ON OPENCELLid database. You have all the info you already needed just need to add extra tab and the code!!!!!!!!

though i don't understand the numbers, the graphs are simple to follow. I'm able to track my signal strengths around my home as I walk. Real Time. I'll be able to locate my booster very accurately.
