The HDHomeRun app requires an HDHomeRun tuner to watch Live TV on your Android phone, tablet, or Android TV box.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Compatible HDHomeRun device:
HDHomeRun CONNECT, EXTEND, EXPAND, or PRIME
Legacy model HDHomeRuns like the DUAL will support Live TV streaming; however, DVR is not supported.
• DVR features (including pause and rewind) will require the HDHomeRun DVR:

• Reliable Wi-Fi network
• Android 4.4.2 or later

What kind of video recording app lets you schedule recordings, tells you that the program is being recorded with a little red circle, but doesn't actually record your program because DVR Active = No in the settings? This app. No warning about the subscription ending in the app, no notification e-mail. You just find out after troubleshooting that your scheduled recordings for the past 5 days didn't happen because your subscription had expired. Never seen anything like it.
