I am using on my chromebook (Acer CB3-431) and it rarely (once in all my tries) detects my hdhomrun connect tuner, and has never seen my dvr. I can watch live tv fine when it detects the tuner. All hdhomerrun functions (live aqnd dvr) work on my three android devices with the hdhomerun app (two phones and tablet.) I have 3g internet, but a very fast wifi router with ethernet ports and can watch plex movies and hdhomerun tuners fine on these other devices. Maybe the tuner and dvr detection logic on this app times out sometimes, maybe because it goes online on my slow external internet to check registration, leading to the false indication of not having a tuner or dvr? I like the tuner and dvr but would like to app to also run on my chromebook reliably.
I like the hardware and it just works, plug and play!!! But, please, fix your software interface , it's confusion as hell and slow to scroll and why is it defaulting to landscape mode as soon as you open it on a phone , it's not a tablet for God sake!!! I should also mention that it does not work through OPENVPN to connect to your home/local network , does not make any sense!!!
Works great on wifi. However it doesn't work on Open VPN (netgear router VPN solution) to local network over cellular service- please warn about data usage but allow this to work... Thanks!
Runs fairly well on the Nvidia Shield, better than Google's Live Channels, but we're looking for a better app since we need a method of controlling volume with the Nvidia remote. Something about how the app works disables Android volume control, forcing us to use the TV remote.
Simple UI doesn't clutter and get in the way of what I want to do, which is to watch TV. +1 for allowing access over a VPN connection. I know it should work since I can open the app while connected to my LAN via WiFi, minimize the app, turn off WiFi, connect via OpenVPN Connect on my phone, and then maximize the app, and pick up streaming where I left off.
It works on most of my devices, but still doesn't work on my Sony Android TV with the latest 7.0 update.
