It is used for location optimization. There is a feature in the app that uses geo-fencing, which the ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION helps improve the accuracy.

**** This app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can decrease device battery life. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

**** This app uses the device Health Activity Recognition feature for tracking to help improve the accuracy when geo-fencing is used.

Ratings and reviews

This app is VERY buggy. Every time I try to open settings, it crashes. My Samsung Galaxy S22 keeps asking to put it to deep sleep because of all the crashes. Schedule, Timer, and Reminder do nothing. I can't even open Reminder. All I can get to work is one-off open or close. This app has become basically unusable. It crashes constantly, fails to connect to devices, and randomly logs out or freezes. Judging by recent reviews, this is not just my experience. It’s happening to a lot of users.

4 different devices, s7, a51, and 2 tablets. They don't get quick notifications about opening and closing. I know about sleeping apps, I know about deep sleeping apps, I know about optimization of apps, I know about the never sleep option. Nexx used to be great and now it can take up to 30 minutes before you get notified - 30 minutes is 30 too long. This is more than 5 years of use and I can only guess its going to get worse.

Same as everyone else. App started announcing gate status backward. And, I can understand the concerns of the random openings. Fortunately, mine is on a gate. I would wake up some mornings and find that the app opened my gate in the middle of the night. Would be scary if it were on a garage. Tried changing my Just Drive settings, but it still happens occasionally.
