Review from A Google User
Good start The developer seems very enthusiastic and you don't see that with many other music app developers. My two requests: a separate tab for audiobooks (with automatic bookmarking for files in in those tabs) and support for the Presto sound library for playback speed adjustment. Thanks!
Music not showing up! Since recent updates, NO music will show up in app! Double checked folder, file formats, whitelist, etc. WILL NOT WORK. There's also a bug with the artwork where multiple albums show the same artwork. Even though all artwork is chosen correctly, I can't fix it. This a great looking app, simple and easy to use, but it is riddled with bugs! Please fix!
Best music player It's simple but it has everything you need in a nice organized presentation. Runs perfectly smooth, never any crashes or problems. The free version is pretty much the same, I just paid to support the developers for making the most "straight to the point" music player without any of the nonsense.
Some issues Everytime I download a new song, shuttle doesn't recognize it. I would have to reinstall the app for it to recognize. Another issue is that after I reorder my playlist, it would change the order by itself Everytime. One more issue is that when I delete an old playlist, it comes back the next time I open the app. If these issues are fixed I'll give it 6 stars if I could. Please fix!
Seriously fantastic How is this only $1 and yet better than nearly every other player on the store (poweramp is more comprehensive but also more bloated and costs more). Fantastic minimal player. Loses one star for having minor issues during playback.
Nice layout but WTF with album art download I bought the paid version for the chromecast support. I like the design and layout of the app and the widget options. However I don't like the background album art download feature using up 890MB of cellular data over 2 days!! Worst of all, still many of my songs when I fast forward in the widget, still show blank album art.
After trying a bunch of different Android music players, I settled on Shuttle+. The user interface is uncluttered and appealing. It has good sound quality (although I am not a great judge of that...) Most importantly for me, it can sort albums by album artist tag, so all the Bob Dylan albums appear together. (Yes, I know, just like a record/CD store, which dates me.) I wish it was smart enough to use artist LAST names, so "Bob Dylan" was under "D". I am still trying to figure out how it sorts albums after that -- which Dylan album comes first -- but that is a minor point. I use it on my phone, and on a tablet used in the car and at home. It has been very stable, despite me continually updating my collection, and it has enough users to find any bugs quickly. Kudos to this developer -- thanks for all the work!
