Either the cameras or the app is always down. I've had the system fot a year now, and at LEAST once a week, the app is unavailable. If there is ever some kind of power surge/outage the cameras do not reconnect which is not good when I'm out of town. I have to manually reset each camera when i get home. I now have individual WiFi cams in other areas for WHEN they do go down. I would not recommend to anybody!! EDIT: Also, there is no in app "panic button" in case you want to run off a solicitor.

I have hardwired several alarm systems in the past. I recently purchased and installed SimpliSafe (without cameras). The product and features are great. It's reliable and dependable. The phone app user interface is excellent - easy for experts and novices alike. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into this product. Chat and phone support are excellent. One thing I would improve: make it easier to find pdf manuals and help information via web browser. That would help reduce help calls and chats.

My experience with SimpliSafe has been far from satisfactory. The unreliable camera system, with its delayed footage viewing, poses significant safety concerns. It's alarming that one cannot assess potential dangers in real-time, undermining the very purpose of a security system. Additionally, the subpar performance of the alarm system sensors, coupled with the shift towards an overpriced subscription model, is disappointing. Regrettably, the transition to the second generation has been horrible
