Way too much dead air, which causes you to question whether the app is actually tracking steps or not, meaning you keep checking your phone to see if it's progressing. Having multiple paths and items to pick up is a bad idea too as these are easy to miss with no warning they're coming up and are another reason you need to constantly have your phone in your hand.
EDIT: Since writing the below review in 2015 this app has been updated and as of 10/7/17 has basically fixed all the problems I had with it. This is great because now I can continue with the excellent story, which along with the world building has always been super strong! Review below kept for posterity ------------- This is the second, at least, time I've missed the wonderful story of The Walk (because the story is great) and reinstalled it, and then over the course of using it got more and more frustrated with its effects on my phone, namley IT IS A 1.2 GB APP THAT WILL NOT GO ON YOUR SD CARD. I have 15 updates I can't get because of this app. I constantly have to be aware of whether there are any files I can move to my SD card. Long YouTube videos involve me clearing me cache before watching them so they can buffer.
The long empty pauses suck and make walking incredibly boring. Would rate 5 stars if the made it so the app can link to your music player like they do with zombies run. Having to constantly switch between the two apps breals the games immersion and is very annoying.
Was good till the app decided that it would not allow levels to be completed so I could move forward to the next episode. No matter how long I left it running only option was to abort and start again and hope this time It let me progress.
Started out tracking maybe 25% of my steps, but now it's tracking exactly 0% even linked to google fit. Today alone google fit has me on over 9000 steps, this app has me on 0. Given this is a paid for app, I would expect better. It's supposed to be fun.
It does sync with Google Fit. But it does a decent job of counting steps without it. I love the story. Looks like they got Ep. 30 fixed. My only beef is there is no backup method. Switch phones and you have to start the story all over again.
- The app now launches faster!
- Fixed crash on Episode 30
- Fixed start position on Episode 36
- Fixed map image on Episode 42
- Various bug fixes
