Wish I'd gotten it sooner! I've had this app and the regular Zombies, Run! app on my wishlist for a while. I'm so glad I finally got it. Like others have said I'm up off the couch and moving my rear. I'm not running yet, but I'm on my way. The story pulls you in making you want to do more and more to learn more about what's going on. I've used it on the treadmill, the elliptical, and the open road and it works on all three - just toggle the tracking input until you find what's closest to reality for indoors. My family think I'm a bit nuts when I say I'm going for a zombie run or a zombie chase, but they've all also told me they're happy and proud of me for getting out there and doing it. I recommend this app to anyone and everyone, especially if you want something to take your mind off the fact that you're exercising. ***Just a tip - download winamp free. The Zombies,Run! app will use your playlists from it for use "in game" so you can hear everything that's going on in the story better.***
Dev, please read Read reviews, said it was a awesome app so i bought it. I read the tutorial and started the story(before workout 1 week 1). I listened to the audio(great stuff) but continued to walk/sprint after the audio. I walked for 80 minutes at 21k feet waiting for another audio. But i got nothing. I sprinted for 500 feet to see if the feet/minute would trigger one. But nothing. Please add audio for when a training session is finished. Would have been great. So i stopped the mission and there is no completed tag. ???
Definitely a fun app, but... There are a few quirks that should be worked out. It would be nice if it could adjust the music volume, or pause the music while giving instructions. Instructions are almost impossible to hear if you choose to have music playing. Also, someone else mentioned having a skip track feature. That's an excellent idea. I paused the mission, backed out to shut off music, then had to restart the mission from the beginning. Was kind of a bummer. Overall, it's great fun, great for motivation.
Incredible with a few glitches I've completed 2 out of the 8 weeks and I'm already shocked by how much I can do. I went from completely sedentary and unable to run more than 20 seconds without severe burning lungs to doing 30 second sprints over and over with virtually no discomfort. It's only getting easier. The pacing is very reasonable. In fact, sometimes it seems a little slow and I feel like I haven't pushed myself even with running during the freeform periods, but I'm following the program to a T so I don't get burned out. PROBLEMS: "auto-post to Facebook" does NOT work, ever. At first, hitting "sync" from my phone was enough to prompt it, but now I must log out and log back in on my phone as well as force-syncing on my computer to get it to show up on Facebook. I've had one glitchy moment so far where a 30 second run turned into 5 minutes of silence. My solution to the music issue is to simply run Spotify separate from ZR5K rather than using integrated playlists. I play music during the 10 minute walk because I know nothing particularly important is happening, and I can just barely hear the transmissions over the music. Then I manually pause the music for the drills. Overall, amazing app!
Great App This is an awesome program. Love how it eases you into running starting with only 15 seconds - anyone can do that! This won't work with any music services, but I just made a running playlist on windows media player to use and it works perfectly, and having one playlist saved to my phone is no big deal, memory-wise. I've been able to transfer this to 3 different phones without any trouble at all.
Awesome! Minor flaws but still awesome I've now completed all of the 5k training and I loved it. It got me motivated and fit enough for running the full Zombiues, Run! app. Training takes you through enough steps that you are a reasonably proficient runner by the end of it Minor flaws are that it occasionally forgets to tell you the time is up on some exercise, not really an issue. It would also be good if supplies could be used for base building, but again not really a problem
* Fixed screen lock issue that interfered with mission clock and tracking on some devices
