Used to work great, but now the sensitivity has gone haywire and I get endless motion alerts when the wind blows even slightly. The Skybell used to be better than Ring with full color night vision, but Ring added that (to a limited degree) via a firmware update. Skybell's motion detection sensitivity is weak compared to Ring's motion zones, and adding that change would make the doorbell exponentially more useful again. The doorbell isn't loud enough inside my house, and unlike Ring, Skybell doesn't offer a range/chime extender. Again, that would be an essential piece of equipment for me if Skybell would offer it (or could create compatibility with Ring/other competitors' chimes, though I don't know how they could get other companies to partner for that). The Skybell Trim Plus is one of the only doorbell cameras that fits on my doorframe, but it's getting to the point that this isn't enough of a reason to keep using it.

In the latest update the motion chime and doorbell ring sounds were removed and replaced with the default notification sound. This is the worst update ever. It is impossible to discern whether the doorbell has been pressed without unlocking and looking at the phone. Please bring this feature back!! Update 5-22-18: I just purchased zmodo greet from Amazon. Will be installing this weekend. I cannot use the skybell if the notification cannot be changed from Android default notification. Zmodo also offers free cloud recording. Skybell really dropped the ball with the recent update. Why would they remove this feature? This device is worthless to me now. Please please please bring these features back.!!!!!!! Skybell has stated that a new update is coming which will address this issue but their definition of a "few weeks" is ambiguous. How many more weeks will it take? I've been waiting for about 10 weeks now. Updated 10-30-18: A new update was installed. It did not address the default notification issue. THEY LIED WHEN THEY STARTED THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE ADDRESSED IN THE NEW UPDATE!!!!

Edit March 2024: notifications no longer working as someone else posted. I downgraded the app to version 4.3.2(search google) and notifications working again. Works well with my Note 3, but you changed the motion detection notification sound to a barely audible chime on the last update (8/10.) Please add user selected sounds or at least give several choices, as I never hear the motion alert anymore. Also a vibrate option would be nice!
