In photography, exposure value (EV) denotes all combinations of a camera's shutter speed and relative aperture that give the same exposure.
How to use it
With your touch or keypad down/up, you move de ruler.
Establish the brightness (EV) of your subject, using either your hand-held light meter or the descriptions on the calculator. (Note that the descriptions are only a guideline - if you're working from them you may wish to bracket your exposures.)
Slide the sliding scale so that the ISO value of your film lines up with the appropriate EV value. Then you can read off aperture/shutter speed combinations from the lower pair of scales.
This version of the calculator is reversible. Use the side with EVs 8-16 for bright conditions, and the 3-11 side for dim light.
The calculator helps you to find EV, ISO, FStop and Speed, equivalent values.
With the memos note down the configuration and tips used for such or such light condition.
You also have the possibility to save the list of memos on the SD card to be sure not to louse them.
The app includes three tools:
1.The calculator of the depth of field (further – the DoF-calculator).
2.The calculator of the exposure pairs.
3.The calculator of the sunsets time and the sunrises time.
The DoF-calculator will be helpful at the landscape shooting that needs the maximum depth of field. If you’ll choose the model of your camera and will set the aperture’s value, the focal distance and the distance of the focusing action, you’ll find distant both near limit of the sharpness and the hyperfocal distance. You’ll get the maximum depth of field in shot by focusing at this hyperfocal distance.
The calculator of the exposure pairs is being the special value at the shooting at night time when the built-in exposure meter is lacking for the calculation of the correct time of the exposition (built-in exposure meters can calculate exposure up to 30 seconds only).
Simple example: you wish to shoot the night landscape. The built-in exposure meter shows, that the exposure will be equal to 30 seconds at ISO = 1600 and the aperture = 5.6. But your camera has digital noise at ISO = 1600. If you’ll reduce the sensitivity to ISO = 400, exposure time will be 2 minutes and you’ll cover the aperture to 11, the exposure will increase up to 8 minutes. Photo Tools is created for the calculation of these parameters. The app is able to calculate the exposures up to 512 minutes.
The calculator of sunsets and sunrises allows to find out the time of their beginning. It gives this information about any place of our planet in any day.
It is recommended to have a look at the instruction before the using Photo Tools.

(1) The application program is started.
(2) From the screen, tap the "START" button.
(3) Smartphone put in front of the subject.
(Please toward for the camera side where the illuminance sensor is used to take a picture. )
(4) Tap the "STOP" button.
(5) When the ISO sensitivity is set, tap the "ISO" button .
The ISO setting screen is displayed.
Please select the ISO sensitivity.
[For aperture priority]
To calculate the shutter speed, tap the "F" button.
A set screen of F value is displayed. Please select F value.
[For shutter speed priority]
To calculate F value, the "T" button is pushed.
A set screen of the shutter speed is displayed.
Please select the shutter speed.
(7) From the screen, get The ISO, F value and the shutter speed, and set in the camera.
･The illuminance sensor is installed on the liquid crystal screen side of the terminal.
･In the terminal that cannot use the illuminance sensor, the "INPUT" button is displayed instead of the "START" button.
Tap the "INPUT" button, the illuminance setting screen is displayed.
Please specify the illuminance corresponding to the situation.
The ISO, F value and the shutter speed are calculated by the specified illuminance.
･When click the menu key to the termina, the menu is displayed under the screen.
In "Setting" menu, it is possible to set it as follows.
Select light values:
Select useing sensor or manual input.
Input the correction value of the illuminance sensor.
Select same the steps as the camera used to take a picture.
･The light sensor may not get the terminal does not change the brightness and intensity.
In that case, please read after covering with the hand and darkening the sensor once and apply light.
･The light sensors may take some time to get light.

ISO Values - ISO 25 to ISO 3200.

Manufacturers can be a little optimistic about their published flash Guide Numbers, particularly for scenes that lack reflecting surfaces (eg. outdoor locations). Also be aware that the guide number for flash units with zoom heads is different at each zoom setting.
