Review from A Google User
New Skype... I'm not crazy about the new design, because it's not as handy and doesn't provide as good an oversight. What's worse, it takes forever to launch now. As previously it was ready in about 10 seconds, now it takes about a minute. An update with very negative effects... Very disappointing... After the last update, although it promised better performance, it still takes forever to load. It also seems to mess with the Wi-Fi, turning it off and unable to turn on again. Only after a reboot it works again.
Two things kill this for me First, Skype now autoruns when I restart my phone and sets my status to available. This forced me to log out completely, which means it's now too much of a hassle to bother with - I just use Hangouts instead. Second, since you guys don't provide release notes with updates, I'll never know if you've fixed this. Oh, well...
Process Force Close + Locked Up Tablet Completely I don't know if it was a fluke or what, but while attempting to update I had my tablet lock up entirely, then on restart I got an odd Skype related "stopped responding" notification. I say odd because it was a ".com" specific process message.
Takes up too much space I was checking my apps and I was surprised to see that Skype was taking up 386 MB of space. That is bizarre. You really need to reduce the size.
Ugh Getting tired of this app's bullshit with the proximity sensor issue. How hard is it to implement one easy fix. Sickens me. Update after update and you guys don't seem to be fixing anything important.
I wonder if.. Skype will ever get multiple account support. Would be neat if I could use both my personal and work accounts on one device.
One of the best apps ever Skype introduced VOIP & video conferencing at a fraction of the price and in most cases it's free. I love it.
Thanks for using Skype!
We're always working on making Skype better and we release new features and improvements frequently.
