My Slingbox Solo has been slinging me content from two opposite ends of the globe for years now. I love knowing that when I travel I can still enjoy antenna/cable TV from either country while I'm away. Always great quality and sound even on mobile devices, open networks, airports, and even places way off the beaten path. Globe trotters who want to keep up with the news and shows from home will love it! Keep up the great work.
Like others have stated, this simply isn't working with my Chromecast. I've tried it now with two different devices and no luck with either. Chromecast connectivity is a big selling point of this product and for it to not work it a critical issue that needs to be addressed. Gave it two stars because at least it streams to my phone - just no ability to cast it to my Chromecast from there. Would be more than glad to update my score to a 5 if the Chromecast issues are fixed.
Slingplayer app doesn't stream to my Chromecast using an android phone. Ironically when I use my iPhone I can cast slingplayer to Chromecast no problem. Also I can cast to roku with both ios and Android. Why are you not able to cast from android to Chromecast when iPhone works and so does the roku. Horrible support as many users have complained already. Fix this so I can use my S8 to cast to my tv instead of having to get my iPhone or cast to a roku.
The only purpose for a slingbox is to view your television content on another television. The only mainstream way to do this without laptops and HDMI cables is a Google Chromecast. As many others have pointed out, this app does not recognize Chromecast devices. iPhones have no issues. Android devices cannot use the slingbox as most folks probably intended to when purchasing.
Currently using app with 2 Android devices, Chromecast icon is inconsistent. Delay when command is sent from app to cable box can also be improved. I'm currently using a FiOS connection 150/150 Mbps so my speed is more than acceptable for better uality and faster command reaction time.
App doesn't cast to your device like it's suppose to. You have to use a work around and piggy back off your Google Home app. 2 stars. Customer service is aware of issue but don't have a time line to fix it. They just tell people to use the work around.
