I have had my Smart Things system set up for over a year to monitor for movement, extreme temps, and water in basement. I use it to manage my home remotely, and until the March 10 automatic update, it worked fine. Now I cannot connect at all. I was quite happy with what it was before. And did not want an upgrade. Better testing please!
No good for security. Keeps reseting to away mode when I'm home thus setting off the alarms whenever I open an exterior door and giving several push messages and text messages that have to be acknowledged or deleted. So far, 100% of intrusion alerts are false alarms. Disconnected siren after the first 2 or 3 times. Update*** Changed rating to 1. Now door lock not working after last update.
Lots a good things. I'll just give you my few gripes. Needs a better "smart home remote" Quick access buttons, like a widget screen or something (currently one widget for automations only). Also if you have multiple smart bulbs in one lamp or ceiling fixture. You have to turn on each bulb individually. Huge pain. You should just be able to hit "kitchen light" and have all bulbs in that fixture (or multiple fixtures in that room) turn on.
It works. Has a simple interface. I'd like it if I could just have a single button widget for a given action, though. Like an action that turns out all the lights when I go to bed. Just have it on my home screen so in one click, all the lights are out. I don't like having to sort through a list in the widget every time I simply want to turn off all the lights.
Lately my Samsung S7 Edge mobile presence sensor has been extremely flaky. My phone thinks I leave and arrive again, causing my garage door to open. This is not good. It used to work fine. I'm going to get with ST support in the morning to see if there's an easy resolution. I really want to like ST, but as hit or miss as it is, this is unlikely. I would think these sort of problems would have been fixed with a product that's been on the market for so long. It has so much potential, but at the moment, ST is just inviting a burglar to steal out of my garage.
The latest upgrade has broken thinks that worked before. Upgrades should be better not a step back. Fix the bugs and new broken things and I'll change my review
