The app is not able to control ecobee3 thermostat properly. From the OFF position the app should allow the user to select the desired mode : heat/cool. Instead, when clicking on OFF, the app shows ''working'' and the thermostat goes into the heating mode. Then if you click on HEAT icon, the app will set the thermostat into cooling mode. If you then click on COOL icon, the app will turn the system off without asking for desired mode. Same broken logic in the fan mode selection.

Set up was easy. :) I have to login everytime I open the app. :( Lutron caseta dimmers work better than z-wave dimmers. Lutron pico remotes do not show up in the smartthings apps. :( The Lutron hub timers work every time. SmartThings timers do not work everytime. I'm not sure if this is a z-wave issue or a hub issue. I like the smartthings hub better than the Lutron, because it controls more. However, the Lutron hub is more reliable.

The app works well for what it is designed for, but I constantly have to log back in every time I open the app. I also have to log back in while navigating randomly. It's basically too frustrating to use. 1 star until these basic usage issues are fixed.

Worked fine up to the last update, now I cannot add smart apps or access the marketplace, unable to build custom rules. It lost connection to the Osram light bulbs refuses to connect even the Samsung plug fails. After multiple resets this app is unusable

After last few updates the Samsung washer no longer works within the app, tried disconnecting and reconnecting only for the app to repeatedly crash after step 2 of re-adding the washer. The Android version of Samsung Smart Home is also rubbish and I'm surprised that a Samsung product such as their washer is VERY difficult to connect to their other product SmartThings and their own apps! VERY POORLY EXECUTED!!! Not so smart!

I'm really sorry for the difficulty using the App, those settings do all toggle using one button in our App and I understand how that could be a frustrating experience. First, try uninstalling and reinstalling your SmartThings Mobile App. Then, switch from Wi-Fi to LTE/cell data and back to Wi-Fi or LTE. Still happening? Hi Gary! Chelsea from SmartThings here. I'm sorry to hear about the wonky automation and presence issues. Have you tried disconnecting/reconnecting the lights and/or Mobile Device with your SmartThings Hub? Sometimes even removing/readding the automation can help too! If that doesn't do the trick, please contact us: https://support.smartthings.com Give the option to have more than the 3 standard modes. (Home, Away, Disarmed) There are some "Things" that I would like to be active/inactive when I'm at home, depending on the day, time of day and situation.
For a huge Samsung fan, this was a hard review to write. The app constantly reverts back to the main screen when you're trying to use it and cannot seem to maintain a connection to the internet as every 90 seconds or so all pages list "something went wrong". Cannot connect my Samsung Series 8 TV with my Samsung Smart Things on my Samsung phone. Ugh. Day 2. Still randomly can't connect to the internet. No other app has ever had this problem. Can use the app when it happens to connect, feeling buyers remorse big time.

It wouldn't detect Chrome Beta as a compatible browser and wouldn't log in. Generally no unknown browser should be blocked. Once you're past the interface is pretty good.

I currently have over 65 devices controlled and it works very well *most* of the time. My number one complaint is the day-light-savings time issue. The system clock is 1 hour off with no way to change it. The only other issue I have, and not sure if it is related to the same problem, is any smartapp tied to sunset/sunrise does not work. *Yes i have my location set properly on the map*

The good news is that we've been working on it and you should no longer be logged out of the App unexpectedly. If by chance you are still having trouble, please chat with us at support.smarthings.com This app does NOT SUPPORT SCENES (YET!). All lights in a Routine must have the same light level. Do not waste your time if you have been led to believe otherwise. I've spent hours researching how to accomplish scenes and it seems that everything you really want to do with lighting is so unbelievably complex! It makes me want to throw the whole system out. There are "smart" apps and "virtual switches" (that require a technology expert to install because they aren't list in the - wait for it - Switches List) and if this then that nonsense and triggers and on and on. Regarding Phillips Hue control the color is not accurate and weak.

App keeps restarting causing all kinds of problems. I've had to delete home location profiles and reset hub several times. Online support and forums are not helpful at all. Now Zwave devices are no longer working. Tried several different phones, still same issues. If you want to avoid a headache, recommend you not purchase!

Hi James, Ellen here. I'm so sorry for all the trouble. We just made some changes to fix problems staying logged in, but we want to investigate and solve any issues with your devices as well. Please email us at support@smartthings.com or call us at 1-800 SAMSUNG and we'll look into what's going on with these devices. We'd love to help! The recent dashboard improvements are a VERY welcome update. Can we get an updated widget that had similar functionality? The app is a little slow to launch when you have a large number of devices, and while the dashboard is super convenient, it'd be nice to be able to access similar stuff right from your home screen if you wanted to. The current widget only supporting routines is a little outdated. Maybe additional widgets that allowed you to create a single-button shortcut for individual devices that you want the absolute fastest access to, like your front door lock. Or maybe one that allowed you to toggle through SHM modes. Also, I miss having an address book. It should be a standard feature to be able to route push notifications to the appropriate users instead of a blanket policy that pushes notifications to every device on an account with the app installed.
It worked fine until I was logged out. I tried to log back in but it is not working. I changed my password and tried different ID but failed. Please fix it.

Hello, Ellen with SmartThings support here. I'm so sorry you haven't had a good experience both with SmartThings and support. It sounds like there may be some interference problems and we would definitely love to help fix that. The application works well with Smartthings hub but not able to connect a Samsung refrigerator already installed in Samsung Home. During the process (3 steps) to connect the app recognizes the refrigerator on step 1, at step 2 the app freezes and no longer works until I fully close the app. Re-start the app and happens the same dam thing again. I gave up.

I just ordered a Smart thing Hun v2 on 6/25 /17 and thought I'd load the app early. It sure seems like Ellen spends an awful lot of time apologizing for problems. I sure hope I didn't make a bad decision. I'll give it a fair chance and a fair review once I've given it a thourgh test drive. It appears as though the people with problems have a large selection of devices. Not sure if I will be able to stress the app or not. Until my full review, Wish me luck. ☺

Getting better. Simpler to use vs the older version. Automation procces still needs more options, however better than most other competitors. Need more things!!!!
This works great. Easy way to organize everything. In fact, I usually make sure to grab from zibee protocol instead of just Amazon direct just so I can have non verbal ways of turning things on and off One improvement request: I wish I could add individual routines add widgets instead of having to have them all as 1 giant widget.
Love the new control panel! This version, however, won't allow allow streaming camera images to rotate when the phone is rotated to landscape. Almost want to go back to the previous version because of this.
Working well since latest updates. It needs the ability to edit the layout of Favorites and Home Solutions on the dashboard screen (I want Home Solutions to be on top of Favorites). Can this functionality be added?
The app stinks. Both of us are home right now but it still thinks we are away. It won't turn my kitchen light on or off anymore. My ifttt events dont work because it can never sense when we come or go. I dont know what happened but it has made my smartthings practically useless.

Hi Brandon, this is Ellen with SmartThings support. I'm so sorry that mobile presence has stopped updating, but we can definitely help fix this! You may just need to remove and re-add your mobile phones to SmartThings to get the connection back. Please send us an email or chat with us at support.smartthings.com, we'd love to help! All of a sudden my hub goes offline and then back online constantly. It is not the LAN nor the internet connection. Everything else on the network is not affected. My cameras and other apps don't miss a beat.

I'd suggest performing a hard reset on your Hub, just unplug it completely and remove the batteries for 5 minutes then plug it back in. If you still see the issue after that, please email us so we can investigate and help! Support@smartthings.com While trying to set up the app and hub I am constantly logged out and have to log back in which is needless to say very frustrating and makes the app almost useless.

We have multiple door locks, lifx lights, GE in wall light switches/fans and a thermostat and all were easy to connect, set up and control. Alexa support is nice as well. Perhaps some more customization of the look of the app as well as some of the variables in the timing/schedules of events would be nice. I'm sure that will come with future updates as they do a good job keeping it up to date for the most part.
That is a real shame for Samsung to create this software to support they're hub and if we want to be honest Samsung never had good software division

After last update amazon echo can't find any smartthing devices. The only solution was to uninstall echo from smartthing and disable smartthing skills from echo then enable smartthing skills.
Latest update had broken home/away based on presence of mobile phone. Shows away and then back at 3AM whilst phone is in charger.

Hi Peter, Ellen here. I'm really sorry about the mobile presence trouble! We definitely want to help with this, so I'd like to ask you to send us some mobile presence logs. Here is how to in the app: Tap Menu, Support, Help Us Debug, Check the box for Geofence Diagnostic Log and then Tap Send Geofence Log and choose your preferred email client. I like the new look. I wish the developer team add the capability to show all information for multi-purpose sensors in dashboard (e.g. light level and temperature).
I Purchased the smartthings hub yesterday, thought it would perform to my satisfaction after reading through all the good and bad reviews, my skybell had been working fine prior to hooking it to the hub, now it hums with a delayed ring at the end of the ring cycle, the app itself is more complex than it should be , it has conflicts whenever i tried to add my wife to the platform .... i will be returning this unit for my money back, it is a disappointing experience
