[ AN ASIDE: I love this app AND I want folks to know that it DOES WORK ON CHROMECAST and cc works as well. I found that every APP is different therefore it often takes time to ferret out the "how to" to find the Chromecast image. And don't forget to make certain you set your tv on HDMI 2.] I am curious about a wide variety of topics and the site offers the opportunity to explore. I enjoy the short takes 3 +/- minutes in which I can feed my curiosity and increase my knowledge. Many topics are offered.
I downloaded and installed be it was listed in Google home as being compatible with Chromecast. There doesn't seem to be any controls at all while watching videos. No way to go forward, back, pause or to cast it to my Chromecast on my TV. Rather disappointing.
No way to cast to Chromecast before starting an episode. Had a problem disconnecting Chromecast. After the program ends, the app typically stops casting, but this didn't happen. Had to restart the episode, then use the cast to Chromecast icon to stop casting. One last thing: profanity in programs makes this app not family friendly.
Limited content, and crashes frequently. If you can battle that, ya might just enjoy it! Of course, Smithsonian would reach more viewers on BASIC cable (hint).
I think this app.is great. The short film clips are just enough to quench my thirst for knowledge and they don't take a lot of time from my leisurely stroll through the internet.
It is a app that gives short clips. It's great for on the go that gives you scientific explanations that explains things you didn't know about. Will give you history of the world and culter.
